The Role We’re looking for a System Engineer with a strong customer-first mindset to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing platforms. You’ll act as a Netcentric ambassador, handling complex issues, supporting cloud-based environments, and delivering an excellent customer support experience. This role is not fully remote. Candidates must be based in Madrid. What You’ll Do • Act as a senior escalation point for complex system, infrastructure, and platform issues, • Ensure high availability, stability, and performance of customer-facing environments, • Provide expert-level support across Linux/Unix systems, cloud platforms, and web infrastructure, • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, and security, • Operate and support cloud environments (AWS / Azure), including monitoring and cost awareness, • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, • Work with CDNs, load balancers, web servers, and dispatchers to optimize traffic and performance, • Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and architects to resolve issues and prevent reoccurrence, • Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and incident reports using tools like JIRA, • Proactively identify risks, propose improvements, and drive operational best practices, • Support on-call or urgent production issues when required, • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team What You Bring • Senior background in System Engineering, System Administration, or Technical Support, • Strong Unix/Linux expertise and command-line skills, • Solid understanding of networking, DNS, and security best practices, • Good understanding of web infrastructure, including web servers, dispatchers, and load balancing, • Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred), • Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Perl), • Experience with JIRA, Git, and CI/CD tooling, • Fluent English and EU work eligibility, • Availability to work onsite in Madrid (3 days/week) Nice to Have • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) knowledge or certification, • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven), • CDN platforms (Akamai, Fastly, CloudFront, Imperva), • Cloud certifications and/or previous Tech Lead experience At Netcentric you get: • Permanent contract, • 30 working days of vacation, • Flexible working hours, • Recognition bonus system, • Private health insurance, • Apple work equipment, • WFH equipment + welcome package, • WFH monthly expenses compensation, • Access to Udemy courses, • Adobe certification, • Sponsored gym membership, • Tax-free benefits (ticket restaurant, kindergarten and transport), • A dynamic and international team, • Everyone has a voice; we are a Holacracy organisation At Cognizant Netcentric, we embrace an inclusive workplace, one where diversity is not just respected but celebrated.
