Are you a detail-oriented Accountant with a broad scope and a passion for accurate financial administration? Do you enjoy working in an international environment and collaborating closely with local and external finance partners? Are you ready to play a key role in managing Portuguese accounting while being part of a dynamic team in Barcelona? As an Accountant , you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities related to our Portuguese entity, with a strong focus on payroll. You will support the Spanish accounting team, especially during closing periods and work closely with the local finance team in Barcelona. You maintain continuous collaboration with the external accounting company in Portugal to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. You are responsible for bridging internal accounting with official Portuguese accounting, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and timely follow-up. Accurately record daily accounting transactions for the Portuguese entity. Maintain up-to-date internal accounting, including invoice registration, bank reconciliations, supplier payments, payroll postings, and G/L postings. Closely collaborate with the external Portuguese accountant to ensure correct booking in official accounts. Perform internal balance reconciliations and identify monthly discrepancies between internal and official Portuguese accounting. Execute month-end closing activities such as accruals, depreciation, and balance reconciliation. Share invoices and relevant financial information daily with the Portuguese accountant. Provide accounting support for Spanish entities. Prepare financial and payroll-related reports for management upon request. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes. Fluent Spanish (mandatory) and business-level English (minimum B2). Experience working with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar. Strong Excel skills for reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis. Ability to work on-site in our Barcelona office (full-time initially). Portuguese language skills. Knowledge of Portuguese payroll legislation and regulations. Experience working with external accountants or social secretariats. Previous exposure to international or multi-entity accounting environments. Contract & growth : initial 3-month contract, extendable by a further 3 months, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role. Close collaboration with finance teams in Spain and Portugal. Hybrid working model : Full-time office presence during onboarding (first 2–3 months), followed by hybrid working. Payroll expertise : A key role with strong focus on Portuguese payroll and compliance. Work closely with an experienced colleague in Portugal and external payroll partners.
