ppWe are seeking an experienced bAssociate Director of Finance /b to lead the financial operations of our Spanish entities based in Madrid. This role will oversee local accounting, financial reporting, and finance administration while ensuring full compliance with Spanish GAAP (Plan General Contable - PGC), local tax regulations, and regulatory reporting requirements under IFRS for group consolidation. /p pThe role will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting to corporate headquarters in Toronto, AP/AR oversight, vendor and service provider management, and financial planning coordination with department leaders and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This role will report directly to the Group CFO. /p pThis position will also manage the local Finance Administration team in Spain and serve as the subject matter expert for ERP systems, accounting processes, and financial controls, supporting ongoing improvements in financial reporting, systems, and operational efficiency. /p pThe ideal candidate is a proactive finance professional comfortable working in a multi-entity, multi-currency international environment and collaborating with stakeholders across Europe and North America. /p h3Core Responsibilities /h3 h3Financial Leadership Local Finance Management /h3 ul liLead and manage the Finance and Administration function in Spain, including oversight of accounting operations and local finance staff /li liAct as the primary finance lead for Spanish entities, ensuring compliance with Spanish GAAP (PGC), tax regulations, and statutory reporting obligations /li liServe as the main liaison with Corporate Finance in Toronto, ensuring timely reporting, alignment with group policies, and support for consolidated reporting /li liCollaborate with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Department Heads to support budgeting, cost management, and financial planning initiatives /li liSupport corporate strategic initiatives, financial analysis, and operational decision-making /li /ul h3Month-End Quarter-End Close /h3 ul liLead the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines /li liPrepare and review: /li liMonthly financial statements (including PL, balance sheet, and cash flow reports) /li liPL, balance sheet, and cash flow reports /li liVariance analysis versus budget and forecast /li liSupporting schedules and reconciliations /li liProvide financial reporting packages to Corporate Finance in Toronto for consolidation and executive reporting /li liCoordinate year-end close activities, support external audits for group company reporting, and manage local statutory audit for Spanish entity reporting /li /ul h3Budgeting, Forecasting Business Partnering /h3 ul liWork closely with Department Heads and operational leaders to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts /li liProvide financial insights to support decision-making across departments including operations, marketing, esports, and content production /li liMonitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis to CFO with financial recommendations /li liSupport cost planning and execute cost control initiatives /li /ul h3Vendor, Service Provider External Liaison /h3 ul liAct as the primary finance contact for collections, vendors, service providers, and external advisors /li liOversee vendor onboarding, contract coordination, and payment processes /li liManage relationships with: ul liExternal accountants /li liTax advisors /li liPayroll providers /li liLegal advisors /li liAuditors /li /ul /li liEnsure vendor agreements and financial commitments align with budget and corporate policies /li /ul h3Payroll, Tax Compliance Oversight /h3 ul liOversee coordination of local payroll administration and ensure compliance with Spanish labor and social security regulations /li liManage tax filings and statutory reporting, including VAT and corporate tax remittance and filing requirements. Collaborate with external advisors as required /li liEnsure proper documentation and reporting with Agencia Tributaria, Seguridad Social, and other regulatory bodies /li liSupport preparation for statutory audits and corporate audit requirements /li /ul h3ERP Financial Systems Leadership /h3 ul liServe as the subject matter expert (SME) for ERP systems and financial tools, including Oracle NetSuite or equivalent platforms /li liEnsure accurate system configuration for: ul liGeneral ledger /li liFinancial reporting /li liMulti-entity consolidation /li liIntercompany transactions /li /ul /li liLead initiatives to improve financial processes, reporting automation, and system efficiency /li liSupport implementation of finance systems and integrations across the organization as necessary /li /ul h3Process Improvement Strategic Finance Projects /h3 ul liIdentify opportunities to improve financial processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy /li liLead or support finance transformation initiatives, ERP enhancements, and operational finance projects /li liCollaborate with corporate teams to ensure standardization of finance processes across global entities /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 h3QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS /h3 ul liBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field /li li7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience /li liStrong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (Plan General Contable - PGC) /li liExperience working with IFRS reporting environments /li liProven experience managing month-end and quarter-end close /li liExperience managing AP/AR processes and financial operations /li liExperience working in multi-entity and multi-currency environments /li liStrong ERP experience (Oracle NetSuite preferred) /li liAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools /li liExperience managing finance teams or supervising accounting staff /li liStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across international teams /li liFluent Spanish and English (required) /li /ul h3Preferred / Assets /h3 ul liExperience working in publicly traded companies or organizations with consolidated reporting /li liExperience reporting to international corporate headquarters /li liExposure to audit processes and external auditors /li liExperience in media, esports, gaming, marketing, entertainment, or digital content industries /li liExperience working in high-growth or fast-paced international organizations /li liKnowledge of tools such as NetSuite, Microsoft Teams, DEEL, HUMI, or other HR/payroll systems /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
