IGNIS P2X is a joint venture between IGNIS and KKR to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors. The JV is dedicated to development of green hydrogen, ammonia, e-methanol, e-fuels and SAF production plants serving blue chip corporates active in refining, steel, chemicals, fertiliser, among other sectors, as well as traditional renewables, largely wind and solar, associated with the hydrogen and ammonia projects. As an Energy Modelling & Strategy Junior Analyst you will be focused on the technical and operational modelling of energy assets and commercial agreements, with a strong emphasis on hydrogen production, renewable generation, storage technologies and integrated energy systems. The role involves analysing and optimising the performance and design of energy projects, assessing key technical and commercial variables, and supporting decisions related to asset configuration, sizing and operational strategy. Key responsibilities: • Develop and structure complex technical models from scratch for energy assets and systems, covering hydrogen production, renewable generation, energy storage and integrated configurations., • Analyse and optimise asset design and operating strategies, including sizing, configuration and performance under different market conditions., • Support the technical structuring of power purchase agreements, translating contracts behaviour and market assumptions into coherent modelling frameworks., • Assess and model different revenue strategies and market exposure across energy assets, ensuring consistency between technical assumptions and economic outcomes., • Stay up to date with electricity market design and evolving revenue mechanisms, integrating relevant insights into modelling and analysis., • Contribute to cross-functional discussions with engineering, commercial and investment teams to ensure alignment between technical design and value creation. Preferred background: • Background in engineering, energy systems, physics, mathematics or related quantitative disciplines., • 1-3 years of experience working in asset management, business development, market analysis, consulting or similar technical roles within the Energy/Infrastructure sectors., • Experience in modelling energy assets or systems and understanding how different technologies interact with market and regulatory frameworks., • Understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), including their commercial logic, risk allocation and impact on project economics., • Strong understanding of electricity markets, power systems and renewable energy technologies (PV, Wind, BESS, hydrogen preferred).
