THE ROLE The Commercial Analyst role sits within the Commercial team at WiseEnergy and plays a critical role in managing contractual obligations, revenue streams, and regulatory compliance for a portfolio of renewable energy assets in Iberia. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in contract management, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Land lease agreements, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractsa and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts. This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Commercial Manager, with flexible working arrangements available from our Madrid office or remotely. While the primary focus is on assets in the Iberia market, the role also supports WiseEnergy’s broader international portfolio. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the management of commercial contracts, including PPAs, SPAs, leases, EPC contracts, O&M contracts, and market representation agreements, ensuring compliance, timely renewals, and alignment with project objectives., • Draft, review, and issue formal contractual communications and notices, and manage resolution of non-compliance issues., • Oversee the contract lifecycle, including onboarding of new sites, extraction of key terms, and integration into WiseEnergy’s contract management system., • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and licensing requirements, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors to maintain project integrity and legal standing., • Support the development and continuous improvement of internal contract management processes and tools., • Coordinate with the technical and finance teams to ensure contractual obligations are clearly understood and met across departments., • Prepare revenue budgets and forecasts, and support the development of asset operating budgets., • Ensure regulatory compliance through timely data submissions and coordination with external advisors., • Manage insurance renewals and claims, and maintain relationships with landowners and other stakeholders., • Support ESG compliance and reporting requirements., • Contribute to the development of annual Asset Operating Plans with a focus on contractual performance and obligations., • Approve invoices related to contractual obligations and ensure alignment with agreed terms., • Participate in ad hoc commercial and contract-related projects. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES • Strong understanding of contract law, particularly in the context of renewable energy projects., • Excellent time management and prioritization skills., • Clear and professional communication skills in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a plus), • Flexibility and a proactive, team-oriented mindset., • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous improvement., • Proficiency in IT systems, especially Excel and contract management platforms., • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities., • Commitment to WiseEnergy’s mission and values: be a leader, build trust, be responsible, be innovative, and bring your alpha. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a commercial or contract management role, ideally within the renewables sector., • Bachelor’s degree required., • Demonstrated experience managing commercial contracts, including PPAs, SPAs, leases, EPC, O&M, and market representation agreements., • Familiarity with environmental regulation and licensing processes for energy projects., • Fluency in Spanish and strong English communication skills., • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)., • Strong organizational and business process skills.
