Contracts Manager (EPC) - Madrid, Spain - Up to €65,000 per annum My renewable energy client is seeking a Contracts Manager (EPC) to join their team in Madrid, Spain. As the Contracts Manager you will lead all contractual and commercial activities across the lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring the effective negotiation, management, and administration of contracts. This role plays a strategic part in risk mitigation, value optimization, and project success through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the preparation, review, and issuance of RFQ packages for Preliminary and Early Works, HV Works, Civil Works, Electromechanical Works, and any additional services required by the project (e.g., preliminary studies, engineering services, environmental measures, PV module cleaning, etc.)., • Oversee the clarification process with bidders during the tender phase and ensure timely resolution of queries to maintain competitive and compliant offers., • Manage and validate bid tabulations and commercial evaluations, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule., • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, aligning commercial terms (price, payment terms, duration, liquidated damages, bank guarantees, etc.) with project objectives, in coordination with Legal and Procurement teams., • Oversee the drafting, review, and execution of contract documents and annexes, ensuring consistency with company policies and legal compliance., • Supervise the preparation of contract addendums, supplements, and variation orders, ensuring that contractual modifications are appropriately managed and documented., • Drive the internal contract approval process and coordinate with Finance, Legal, and Project teams for seamless execution., • Monitor and manage the issuance and receipt of Bank Guarantees in coordination with Treasury and stakeholders., • Lead the development and maintenance of the Subcontracting Plan in collaboration with EPC and Procurement teams., • Provide strategic support to the Construction team on contract administration, including claims management, change orders, scope clarifications, milestone certificate reviews, and compliance monitoring., • Manage contract close-out processes and consolidate lessons learned to inform future projects and contractual strategies., • Act as the key point of contact for all contractual and commercial matters across the project portfolio. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related fields). A master’s degree or relevant certification in contract management or project management is a plus., • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is essential., • Minimum 7+ years of experience in contract management within the renewable energy or oil & gas sectors, with strong exposure to EPC environments. Experience in utility-scale solar projects is highly desirable., • Proven experience leading contract negotiation and administration, including claims resolution and dispute management., • Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, procurement practices, and construction-related legal considerations., • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders., • High level of autonomy, analytical thinking, and decision-making ability., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization., • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines under pressure., • Full Spanish working rights
