As part of our growth strategy, we are strengthening our presence in Spain and are seeking an experienced business development leader to drive or expansion in the region. Role Overview The Head of Public Sector – Spain will lead revenue growth, market expansion, and client portfolio performance across the Spanish public sector. Reporting directly to the Chief Market Officer (CMO), this executive will own the go-to-market strategy and lead both New Business and Customer Success functions in Spain. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on commercial execution, ensuring consistent achievement of revenue targets, strong portfolio retention, and sustainable growth. Your mission is to build, scale, and lead a high-performing commercial organization focused on long-term value creation in the Spanish public sector. Key Responsibilities Define and execute a comprehensive go-to-market and new business sales strategy for Spain’s public sector. Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing Business Development, Account Executive, and Customer Success teams. Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pipeline generation, negotiation, and closing. Ensure portfolio performance, renewals, and net revenue retention across existing public sector clients. Design and implement scalable sales processes, playbooks, KPIs, and performance management frameworks. Monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and revenue attainment with discipline and precision. Identify high-growth segments, institutions, and regional opportunities to accelerate expansion. Collaborate closely with Marketing and Product team to drive demand generation and brand positioning. Represent Simplifae with key public stakeholders, strategic partners, and industry forums. Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to the CMO and executive leadership team. What You Bring 8+ years of experience in B2B sales leadership roles. 5+ years of experience selling into the public sector in Spain. Proven track record of consistently exceeding new revenue targets in SaaS, digital platforms, marketplaces, or procurement-related environments. Demonstrated success in building, scaling, and leading commercial teams in Spain. Strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation and closing capabilities. Data-driven mindset with solid expertise in forecasting, pipeline management, and sales performance metrics. Executive presence with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Fluency in Spanish and English. Based in Madrid (or willing to relocate) with availability to travel across Spain.
