ppIENAI SPACE is an early-stage startup located in Madrid, developing an end-to-end ecosystem of in-space mobility products, including propulsion systems and engineering SaaS. We are a highly innovative company in the “New Space” sector; the team is made up of a dynamic and multidisciplinary group of engineers, PhDs and developers, looking to revolutionize space mobility for the adoption of propulsion products in the smallest of satellites. We recently kickstarted our commercial phase with our first product: 360™, a Mission and Space Mobility analysis SaaS. /p pOur mission is to build tailored, end-to-end space mobility products and services for the next generation of small satellites empowering a sustainable new space economy. We believe this is possible because we rely on our values: bInfinite Innovation, Extraterrestrial Excellence, Planetary Passion and Cosmic Collaboration. /b /p h3How will you contribute to IENAI SPACE? /h3 pAs Power Electronics Engineer, your mission will be bto develop and optimize high-voltage power electronics for the ATHENA Nano and Pico thrusters /b. Join our dedicated team as we work to refine this high-voltage converter into a robust, mature, and fully space-qualified device. /p pYour key responsibilities will include: /p ul liAdvanced design of switched-mode power supplies (SMPS): architecture definition, high-voltage design and optimization of thermal and electromagnetic performance. /li liSimulation and analysis: use of advanced tools to model and simulate power circuits, parasitic effects and power integrity. /li liComponent selection: identify and select optimal components for performance, efficiency and reliability. /li liPCB design: design multilayer PCBs using Altium Designer, with attention to high-voltage clearances, parasitics and planar transformer integration. /li liThermal and EMC design: perform thermal calculations, simulations and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) pre-compliance testing. /li liTesting setup and lab work: design, plan and execute complex in-house tests (thermal pre-qualification, EMC pre-compliance, etc.). /li liConfident in EEE lab environments: circuit debugging, diagnostics and use of lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, etc.). /li liSkilled in SMD soldering and hands‑on prototyping. /li liDocumentation and reporting: produce detailed technical reports, schematics, test documentation and progress updates. /li liCollaboration: work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration with propulsion systems and mission requirements. /li /ul h3What is your department like? /h3 pYou will be part of our bElectrical Engineering and Electronics team /b, which is part of our Electric Propulsion department. This team is in charge of designing, testing, manufacturing and has the mission of continuous improvement of the electronic devices that enable thruster operation. /p h3What will make you succeed? /h3 pWe are looking for (must have): /p ul liAt least 5 years of experience in developing power electronics. /li liMaster’s degree in Power Electronics Engineering, or another degree with a strong focus on electronics development. /li liProven experience in designing switched-mode power supplies, high-voltage circuits and thermal/EMC design. /li liFull proficiency with Altium Designer. /li liHands‑on experience in Electronics labs (debugging, testing, instrumentation). /li liProficiency in SMD soldering. /li liBasic knowledge of C/C++, Matlab/Python, and Arduino. /li liSpoken and written professional proficiency in English. /li liFast learner, hands‑on, autonomous, team player and proactive project contributor. /li /ul pWe also value (nice to have): /p ul liExperience in environmental testing (thermal, vibration, radiation). /li liExperience working in automotive or other high-reliability sectors. /li liExperience performing FMECA analysis. /li /ul h3What do we offer? /h3 ul libA key role in a pioneering space startup, /b where you will directly impact the development of cutting‑edge propulsion technology. /li libA full-time contract /b of 40h per week. /li libFlexible working hours, /b allowing you to manage your schedule for better work‑life balance. /li libHybrid work model /b – work remotely up to 10 days per month. /li libExtra holidays – in addition to 23 vacation days, enjoy 6 additional days off during the Christmas period (from 24 December to 2 January, both included). /b /li libPrivate health insurance, /b fully covered by the company. /li libLearning Development – /b €1000 per year budget for training, courses, and professional growth. /li libAutonomy and responsibility – /b your contributions will directly shape our technology and success. /li /ul h3What will your recruitment process be like? /h3 pHere is a quick overview of the recruitment process: /p ul liApplication review: we carefully assess your CV and experience. /li liCulture and values interview: a chat with our People team to ensure we share the same mindset and values. /li liTechnical interview: meet the Tech Lead and showcase your technical skills. /li liSometimes the hiring process will require a technical exercise to assess how you could apply logic and structure to different scenarios. /li liFinal interview with Founders: align expectations and discuss your potential impact at IENAI SPACE. /li /ul pbIf everything you've read matches what you're looking for in your next adventure, don't hesitate to apply via LinkedIn. /b /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
