The Opportunity We are looking for an R&D Power Electronics Engineer to join our Product Development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of advanced power conversion systems used across energy storage, photovoltaic applications, and grid‑connected solutions. You will work in a modern laboratory environment and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary R&D team to bring innovative power electronic products from concept to industrialization. How You’ll Make an Impact • Selection, qualification and verification of semiconductors, passive components and protection devices, • Support a fast, iterative design process in a cross-functional, dedicated team. Use fast prototyping and lab mockups to close learning loops and achieve results quickly., • Perform commissioning tasks for power conversion and control systems for interfacing with storage systems in the laboratory., • Build up and maintain measurement test setups to verify performance, efficiency and robustness, • Working in modern laboratories; bringing up prototypes; evaluating designs limits, • Technical analysis of logs, errors, signals, and metrics; generation of clear and reusable reports to support engineering, quality, and certification., • Perform validation tests in the factory and in the field for prototype power conversion and control systems., • Component qualification and product certification processes., • Preparation of validation reports and technical documentation., • Creation of instructions and associated documentation for product deployment and operation. Your Background • BSc/MSc degree in Engineering or an equivalent field (minimum requirement)., • Experience in the design of electrical systems and power electronic converters, including control strategies., • Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, PSCAD, Simulink, PLECS, or similar., • Experience in specification, selection, and qualification of power devices and passive components (e.g., DC capacitors, filters)., • Valued experience in commissioning power converters, as well as operating measurement equipment and laboratory instrumentation., • Strong experience in managing, preparing, and executing prototype tests, customer tests, or product certifications, including the preparation of test result reports (highly valued)., • Advanced knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC power converter topologies., • Knowledge and experience in photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems, particularly in the operation, integration, and testing of batteries and hybrid PV–battery solutions (positively valued)., • Strong proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, analyzing conversion topologies, operating modes, and system protection., • Strong commitment to safe work practices and adherence to all relevant workplace safety guidelines., • High level of self‑motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to explore new technologies., • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail., • A collaborative, solutions‑oriented approach, combined with strong communication skills., • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, as you will be part of a global team., • Desirable: at least 2 years of relevant experience.
