While most people were getting in the mood for Halloween this year with topical costumes such as Pikachu, Harley Quinn or Donald Trump – which you have to admit are potentially scarier propositions than the obligatory witch or zombie outfits – we were out on the streets of London with nothing but our hoods up, a stencil and some cans of chalk paint.
Using stealth skills learned from watching James Bond movies and graffiti techniques picked up from the videogame Jet Set Radio, we hit over 80 locations in six different boroughs: Tower Hamlets, Newham, Southwark, Lambeth, Greenwich and Lewisham.
We targeted every university, college and job centre in the area, as well as locations with high foot traffic. The idea of the #LookUpAndDownload guerilla marketing campaign was to put JOB TODAY in front of the eyes of the people who could benefit from it the most.
Many young people, students and the unemployed are desperately seeking work but are tired of traditional recruitment routes, which can be time-consuming and frustrating.
We’re a little different.
