We are seeking a reliable Sleep-In Support Worker to join our team in a semi-independent supported accommodation placement. This is a sleep-in role with light support duties, not a waking-night position or a full daytime shift. Duties include: • Overnight sleep-in presence, • Basic evening/morning check-ins, • Supporting routine and independence, • Providing light emotional reassurance, • Encouraging appointment attendance where needed, • Maintaining safeguarding awareness, • Completing daily notes and handover reports Compensation: • 3-night rota: approximately £195–£225 per week, • 4-night rota: approximately £260–£300 per week, • Additional agreed 1:1 or waking-night support will be discussed and compensated separately, • Pay may increase depending on experience; priority will be given to those who can commit to a 2-week live-in arrangement at a competitive rate. Job Summary We are looking for a Waking Night Support worker / Carer to join a lovely team around a 19 year old teenager who has epilepsy, non verbal autism, movement disorder and additional health needs. He lives at home with his family and friendly dog. Weekly hours We are looking for someone to take on 2 regular waking nights (13hr each night shift) ideally Thursday and Friday nights (but please let us know which nights work for you and we can then consider). These are strictly waking nights. More weekly hours are possible sometimes but not less hours The young man needs someone to spot seizures or other health emergencies and if needed call the parents who are in the same house. The monitoring is with seizure video monitor and heart rate monitor and regular in person checks. These nights can be quite active - as if he has a seizure he might have to be accompanied via ambulance to A&E. Good command of the English language is essential. All training is during the day first through shadowing. About you: This position will suit someone who ideally has already worked with autistic and disabled adults and has already experience. But we would also be able to train you in personal care, catheterisation, medication administration, peristeen and positive behaviour support and other essential skills. His environment will need to be kept clean and tidy (it is not a cleaner position but to ensure that his environment stays tidy, safe and fit for purpose). You will help with his laundry too. We would prefer someone to work on a self-employed basis with a UTR number (not cash in hand). It is exactly 26 hours minimum per week. We hope to find someone who has specific interest in special needs. It is not a summer job but we hope to find someone to commit for a minimum of 12months. That's why we would prefer someone who has studied or will study a related subject eg Psychology or nursing or similar. One would need to be strong and fit to support and keep safe someone with a movement disorder. The suitable applicant would be flexible and be able to take on extra shifts from time to time. You would often work together with other team members at the beginning or end of your shift (eg for bath time). Day shifts might available too on occasion if you are interested. You should be responsible, cheerful, honest and very reliable and physically strong and healthy. You will be trained by members of the experienced team in all of his health needs but also the principles of ABA - a behaviour therapy. You will need to attend some of the team meetings too. We are looking for a Waking Night support worker / Carer to join a lovely team around our 18 year old teenager who has epilepsy, non verbal autism and additional health needs. We would need someone to take on 2 waking nights per week – the nights we need covering are the nights we need covering are Wednesday and Thursday. These are 13 hour night shifts in the family home of the young man. These shifts are strictly waking nights to spot seizures (with video monitor and heart rate monitor). We are looking for someone experienced. On waking night shifts you need sufficient time to rest as you will need to be awake and alert during the waking night shifts. This position can not be taken as a second position next to a full time job. There is the for more hours with either an occasional extra night or day time shifts. We ideally need someone who legally can work more than 20 hours per week. It might be suitable for a student of a related field (medical, Psychology or anything health related). You would often work together with other team members at the beginning or end of your shift (eg for bath time). Day shifts might available too on occasion. You would be assisting the young man with everyday skills and activities as well as feeding, bathing and toileting. It would be preferable if you are experienced with IC catheterisation otherwise we will train you. When working a waking overnight you will need to make sure that he is safe and alert parents in case of a seizure. You need to tidy and keep his environment clean and tidy. You should be responsible, cheerful, honest and very reliable and physically strong (relatively tall) and healthy as he needs a lot of support and is immune compromised. You will be trained by members of the experienced team in all of his health needs but also the principles of ABA - a behaviour therapy. You will need to attend some of the team meetings too. There will be a general schedule but you will still need to be a bit flexible and sometime cover for other people in the team. You should: • Commit for minimum a year., • ideally be self-employed., • Invoice at the end of every month, • Able to work legally in the UK, • Be based in London, • Non Smokers and non Vapers only., • Needs to be comfortable with dogs.
