Barista and Waiter / Waitress - Botanical boys - London

We are looking for a person with at least 2 years retail and events operations experience to assist our store supervisor. The business is in 2 sections: 1. We run botanical events teaching Terrarium Design, Moss Art and wine tasting and plant classes. The retail operative will need to assist in setting up classes and supporting us refilling equipment as well as selling terrariums to the customers., 2. We source and sell Handmade furniture and art from South Africa both in our events store and online. You need to be competent using a laptop and to be able to pack boxes from time to time when required. The ideal candidate will be freelance and able to choose a range of shifts 2-3 dpw as and when required. We particularly need someone to start in October to shadow our small team and be available up and through the Xmas period. The ideal person must have initiative and not need to be told what to all the time. We need people to show a positive sales and customer service approach and enjoy working in a mixed environment of retail and events. Summary of the role • Greet and meet guests at the deli desk., • Present our deli and coffee, provide relevant information to our guests (food allergies, portions, various upselling and add-ons)., • Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones., • Inform guests about our specials and any dishes or drinks that we are currently promoting., • Offer hot drinks or deli recommendations upon request., • Up-sell in both deli (pastry and cakes) and beverages., • Take accurate orders., • Taking accurate payments from customers., • Communicate efficiently with the Front of House and managers., • Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning and recording any defects., • Check your crockery and area for cleanliness and presentation and report any issues., • Arrange barista and deli settings, maintaining a tidy section., • Keeping the work environment safe, sanitary, and organized., • To respect the Allergen standards laid out by the law and Chez Antoinette standards., • Participate in team briefings and have a keen interest in the daily life of the restaurant., • Follow all relevant Health and Safety regulations and policies., • Provide excellent customer service to guests.
