About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial records, double-entry bookkeeping, and accounting principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all records are consistent and error-free.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with year-end accounts.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Generate financial reports (e.g., profit & loss statements, balance sheets).
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and team members to resolve queries.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and company policies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
- Familiarity with VAT, payroll processing, and basic tax regulations.
- Excellent numerical skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- AAT/IAB qualification or Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
