About us
Wanstead Walkers is a new, local dog walking business serving families in Wanstead, Aldersbrook, and Snaresbrook.
We take small groups of dogs out on Wanstead Flats and in Wanstead Park, and we want every owner to know their dog is with someone careful, friendly and reliable.
The role
You will collect dogs from their homes, walk them in small groups of no more than four, and bring them home safe, tired and happy. Each walk lasts around an hour. Day to day, that means:
- Collecting and returning dogs on time, and keeping client keys safe
- Walking up to two dogs, on or off lead as each owner allows
- Following the code of conduct for dog walkers, including picking up after every dog
- Checking each dog over before and after the walk
What we are looking for
- Experience with dogs, whether through work, volunteering or your own dogs
- Confidence handling a small group, including recall and dogs of different sizes
- Reliability and good timekeeping, as owners plan their day around you
- A clear basic DBS check as required
- Happy to hold client keys and enter their homes
- A smartphone for updates and photos
- The right to work in the UK, and aged 18 or over
- A pet first aid certificate is a bonus, but not essential
What you get
- £16 per dog per group walk, paid weekly
- Walks booked around your availability, from one day a week upwards
- Clients found and booked for you, so you can simply walk
- Cover under our public liability and care, custody and control insurance
- Walks close to home on Wanstead Flats and in Wanstead Park
How to apply
Message us with a few lines on your experience and the days you are free. We will be in touch for a short call, followed by a meet and a trial walk.
