HGV Technician - Kirkcaldy Job description Job Description We are seeking a fully qualified HGV Technician with at least 1 year of experience to join a busy, well-established workshop in Kirkcaldy. You will be part of a skilled workshop team, reporting directly to the Workshop Foreman. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of HGV vehicles and associated equipment. You will alternate weekly between day shift and back shift, with additional earnings available through shift allowance, overtime, and eventual participation in the on-call rota. The workshop handles a steady flow of work, ensuring consistent hours and job security. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and servicing on HGV vehicles and associated equipment to manufacturer specifications Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge Repair and replace worn or faulty components, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension Conduct safety inspections and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and standards Document all work completed, including parts used and labour hours, in workshop records Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety protocols Collaborate with the workshop team and Workshop Foreman to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Participate in on-call rota duties as required to support emergency repairs Candidate Profile We are looking for candidates who bring genuine pride in their workmanship, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to long-term professional development.
