We are seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Chef to join our team. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in managing the current kitchen team and the day-to -day operations of our kitchen. If you have a passion for food, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent organisational skills, we would love to hear from you.


Responsibilities

  • Menu Planning: Developing menus that reflect the culinary style, preferences of the target audience, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
  • Food Preparation: Overseeing the preparation of food, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards.
  • Cooking: Directly involved in cooking, including overseeing cooking processes, techniques, and ensuring consistency in taste and quality.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervising kitchen staff, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Quality Control: Implementing quality control measures to maintain food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance with regulations.
  • Training and Development: Providing guidance, training, and mentorship to kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Experimenting with new recipes, ingredients, and cooking techniques to keep menus fresh and exciting.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring food costs, minimising waste, and optimising resource utilisation to achieve financial targets.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality dishes, addressing feedback, and accommodating special dietary requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as purchasing, marketing, and management to coordinate menu changes, promotions, and special events.
  • Health and Safety: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen environment is required
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
