We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking member of staff to join our fish & chips shop.
Main duties:
- Taking customer orders and operating the till
- Handling cash and card payments accurately
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service
- Helping prepare food and assisting the kitchen team
- Preparing portions, packaging orders and serving customers
- Helping with frying and other kitchen duties when required
- Keeping the counter, kitchen and work areas clean and tidy
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Working efficiently during busy periods
- Supporting other members of the team when needed
The ideal candidate should:
- Have experience working in a takeaway, restaurant, fish & chips shop or similar environment
- Be comfortable using a till and handling payments
- Be willing to work in both the front counter and kitchen
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Have good customer service skills
- Be able to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Have a good understanding of food hygiene
- Be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends
Experience in a fish & chips shop is preferred but training can be provided for the right person.
