The Role
As a Back of House Team Member, you will play a vital role in delivering the quality, consistency, and speed that our customers expect. You will be responsible for preparing food and drinks to brand standards while maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
The ability to work calmly and effectively during busy periods is essential, ensuring customers receive their orders promptly without compromising on quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare all menu items in line with Karak Chaii recipes and standards.
- Ensure food and drinks are prepared and served efficiently, with a target service time of 10 minutes.
- Assist with the preparation of Karak Chaii's signature chai.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area at all times.
- Follow food safety procedures, including correct storage and stock rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out).
- Ensure all opened products are correctly labelled and dated.
- Complete daily, weekly, and deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.
- Receive and check deliveries, ensuring products meet quality standards before storing them appropriately.
- Support with washing up and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Work collaboratively with Front of House and fellow kitchen team members to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Follow all company policies, food hygiene regulations, and health & safety procedures.
Person Specification
We are looking for team members who demonstrate the following qualities:
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a similar food preparation role is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to learn and consistently follow brand standards and procedures.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required.
- Passionate about food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards and contributing to the success of the business.
