We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Engineer who takes pride in their work and enjoys solving problems in a busy production environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in keeping our machinery running efficiently, reducing downtime and ensuring safe production operations.
This is a hands-on engineering role, working closely with production teams to maintain and improve industrial machinery across the site.
Key Responsibilities Routine Maintenance

  • Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment
  • Preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime
    Repairs & Fault Finding
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults in manufacturing machinery
  • Use technical manuals, schematics and diagnostic tools to identify issues
    Equipment Installation & Improvements
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance
    Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures and site regulations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history
    Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with production teams to prioritise repairs
  • Provide guidance and support to junior maintenance staff and operators
    Breakdown Response
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production loss
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs when required
    Requirements
  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering within steel or similar manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools and maintenance software
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • High level of reliability, attendance and commitment – essential
    Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Standing for extended periods, climbing and lifting equipment
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions such as cold or wet environments
