  Senior Prep Lead – AV, Audio & Special Effects Location: North London Department: Warehouse Operations Reports to: Warehouse Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: £37,500 – £40,000 dependent on experience Additional: Paid Overtime Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Prep Lead to take ownership of preparing outgoing equipment for event productions and hires. This is primarily a hands-on practical prep role rather than a line-management position. The main goal is to ensure jobs are prepared accurately and to the highest standards. You will personally prep most outgoing equipment, use Current RMS to support accurate stock allocation, and ensure orders are ready ahead of schedule and loaded onto the correct vehicles. As the company continues to grow, this role has the potential to develop into a formal Prep Manager / team leadership position, with responsibility for training and overseeing additional prep staff. Key Responsibilities Operational & Technical Prep • Prepare outgoing equipment for event productions and hires, ensuring accuracy and timeliness., • Prep orders at least one day in advance wherever operationally possible, flagging workload, stock, or timing risks early., • Ensure equipment, accessories, cables, cases, and loose items are present, functional, and packed correctly., • Identify faulty, incomplete, or unsuitable equipment during prep, flag issues to the Warehouse Manager, and ensure affected items are processed correctly through quarantine procedures., • Use practical equipment knowledge to sense-check compatibility, required accessories, and sensible kit combinations across AV, Audio, and Special Effects equipment., • This role is not expected to carry out day-to-day equipment repair or servicing., • Ensure outgoing jobs are prepped cleanly and logically so equipment is ready in line with loading plans and delivery schedules., • Ensure orders leaving the warehouse are loaded safely and efficiently into dispatch vehicles. Planning, Communication & Culture • Support production and hire preps by working closely with relevant managers, querying unclear instructions and handling late alterations or last-minute orders., • Spot wider prep risks early and challenge unclear or inaccurate prep lists constructively., • Make practical recommendations wherever possible, including around availability, incorrect quantities, incompatible items, and suitable alternatives., • Maintain calmness and clarity while dealing with pressured scenarios where prep issues could affect readiness or dispatch., • Participate in logistical planning discussions around dispatch timing and sequencing., • Embrace a collaborative, can-do culture where team members support each other across departments when needed. Systems, Stock & Compliance • Use Current RMS and warehouse scanning / stock processes to support accurate stock allocation and equipment handling., • Follow stock allocation processes carefully to maintain stock accuracy, asset care, and loss prevention., • Keep prep bays clean, organised, and reset after each dispatch., • Ensure prep bays and working areas remain compliant with Health & Safety standards, including safe manual handling and good housekeeping. Wider Responsibilities • Take ownership of prep standards and help maintain a culture of prepping early., • Contribute ideas for improving prep efficiency, accessory accuracy, stock usage, and prep bay discipline., • Support a no-blame, improvement-focused culture by identifying repeat issues and helping prevent recurrence., • Support training and onboarding of future prep staff as the team expands. What Success Looks Like • Confidently preparing the majority of jobs independently within the first three months., • Using Current RMS accurately and following stock allocation processes confidently., • Orders consistently prepped at least one day in advance., • Prep bays kept clean, organised, and ready for the next job., • Reduction in missing accessories, late prep, and avoidable prep-list issues through careful checking and early communication., • Maintaining a consistently high level of prep accuracy. Required Skills & Experience • Previous experience preparing equipment across both production and dry-hire environments., • Practical working knowledge across Audio, AV, and Special Effects equipment., • Confidence using warehouse scanning, barcoding, or asset-management systems; experience with Current RMS preferred but not essential., • Excellent attention to detail and a strong quality-control mindset., • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work quickly while keeping prep bays tidy and controlled., • Confidence challenging unclear or inaccurate prep lists in a calm, practical, and constructive manner., • A proactive, solution-focused approach., • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling in a warehouse environment. What will you be doing? • Lead end-to-end warehouse management solution design for SAP S/4HANA programmes, covering both WM (Stock Room Management) and EWM architectures, • Act as a functional design authority, ensuring consistency, controlled deviation from standard, and alignment to enterprise architecture across the delivery lifecycle, • Drive fit-to-standard workshops, challenging legacy warehouse processes and aligning stakeholders to SAP best practices, • Own the warehouse process architecture and functional taxonomy, including:, • Inbound processing and receipt, • Outbound processing and fulfilment, • Internal warehouse movements and replenishment, • Physical inventory and stock control, • Advanced capabilities (yard management, cross-docking), • Design integrated warehouse processes, ensuring seamless interaction with:, • Materials Management (MM), • Sales & Distribution (SD), • Production Planning (PP), • Quality Management (QM), • Transportation Management (TM) where applicable, • Provide functional leadership on S/4HANA EWM capabilities, including embedded analytics, Fiori applications, and advanced warehouse functionality, • Oversee integration design with automation systems, 3PL providers, and non-SAP warehouse solutions, • Define and guide data migration strategies for warehouse master and transactional data, • Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders, translating complex warehouse designs into clear operational outcomes, • Lead and support pre-sales and business development activities, bringing functional credibility to client engagements, • Build and mentor teams, developing warehouse management capability within the practice What will you need to do it? Functional & Solution Skills: • Deep functional expertise in SAP EWM and/or WM (including Stock Room Management) with strong end-to-end warehouse process knowledge, • Proven experience designing and implementing integrated warehouse and logistics processes, including:, • Inbound, outbound and internal warehouse operations, • Handling Unit Management and storage strategies, • Physical inventory and warehouse control processes, • Advanced warehouse capabilities (yard management, cross-docking), • Strong understanding of integration points across Supply Chain and Finance, particularly MM, SD, PP, QM and TM, • Expertise in SAP Activate methodology, with a strong track record of leading fit-to-standard workshops in logistics environments, • Ability to define functional architecture and warehouse operating models, not just module configuration, • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA EWM capabilities, deployment options and best practices Experience: • Extensive SAP ERP experience, specialising in Warehouse Management / EWM on S/4HANA, • Proven experience as a functional solution lead / SME across complex S/4HANA supply chain programmes, • Delivery of at least 2–3 full lifecycle SAP WM/EWM implementations (design to go-live), • Strong track record in:, • Leading fit-to-standard warehouse design workshops with senior business stakeholders, • Translating operational warehouse requirements into scalable S/4HANA solutions, • Designing enterprise-scale warehouse operating models within SAP, • Experience across Advisory, Functional Solutioning and Pre-Sales roles, • Demonstrated ability to balance solution quality with delivery pragmatism, • Experience leading multi-stream delivery teams (onshore/offshore), • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to engage and influence at CXO level, • Strong interpersonal, team building, organisational and leadership skills Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras: • Strong understanding of warehouse automation and integration, including:, • Material Flow Systems (MFS), • Automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), • Integration with 3PL providers, • Experience working with advanced EWM capabilities in complex warehouse environments, • Industry experience in Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Retail, Pharmaceutical or Logistics-intensive sectors, • Experience facilitating end-to-end warehouse design workshops and translating into functional designs, • Awareness of digital supply chain trends, including:, • Warehouse automation and robotics, • IoT-enabled logistics, • Real-time visibility and analytics, • Strong analytical capability and ability to translate complex warehouse operations into structured SAP solutions, • Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced transformation environments, • Proven ability to support business development and senior client presentations Desirable Attributes: • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex warehouse concepts, • Strong client relationship management, built on functional expertise and delivery credibility, • Detail-oriented approach to solution design and governance in logistics environments, • Self-motivated and capable of leading in dynamic transformation programmes, • Strong commitment to continuous learning in S/4HANA EWM and supply chain innovation, • Active focus on mentoring, capability development and knowledge sharing Our Locations: We are open to talk to talent across the country but our core Tech hubs for this role are London, Birmingham, Manchester.
