About the Role:
WINKLEIGH TIMBER LIMITED, a furniture manufacturing company based in Devon, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee its procurement operations and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers of timber, fittings, and other materials for furniture production.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery schedules to ensure cost efficiency and material quality.
- Plan and manage purchasing activities in line with production and inventory needs.
- Monitor supplier performance, market trends, and material costs to support budgeting and cost control.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and proper storage of materials.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure all materials meet quality and environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain management, ideally within the furniture or related manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with international sourcing and supplier management.
