Tutors should be able to commit to their agreed weekly slot for the academic year wherever possible. We understand that tutors occasionally have other commitments, so a small amount of deputy/cover teaching is permitted each term. We are looking for tutors who: • Have a relevant degree and/or substantial experience teaching children aged 5–12, • Are enthusiastic about teaching young children, • Are proactive and reflective in their approach, • Can teach effectively both 1-to-1 and in small groups, • Can provide a DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or are willing to obtain one, • Are reliable and able to travel to their assigned teaching location, • Have good communication skills and are comfortable completing brief lesson/reporting requirements Multi-instrumentalists may be particularly well suited to the role. TRAINING OPPORTUNITY Current undergraduate students with limited teaching experience are also welcome to apply for a training role, provided they can demonstrate a strong interest in teaching.
