BAR FINCH Mayfair, London Location: 31 Cork Street, Mayfair, London W1S 3NQ Hours: Full time, five-day week Reports to: Maître d’ and the waiting team Start: Immediate Bar Finch is an all-day bar and restaurant on Cork Street, in the heart of Mayfair. It is owner-operated and small in scale, taking its lead from the classic Italian aperitivo bar and serving well-made classics, a proper drinks list and old-school European service in a room of quiet, understated luxury. We are open from breakfast through to the aperitivo hour, five days a week. We are a small business and we want Bar Finch to be a place people are glad to come to work. We hold high standards and we keep them without shouting or drama, on the view that good work comes from a calm, well-run and respectful environment. The role As a Runner you keep service moving: bringing food and drink to the table, supporting the waiters, and keeping the floor in good order. It is a first step into front-of-house, and a role we use to bring people on. You will report to the Maître d’ and the waiting team. Responsibilities • Run food and drink from the kitchen and bar to the right tables, promptly and correctly., • Support the waiters across the section: clearing, resetting, water, bread and replenishing., • Keep service stations, cutlery, crockery and linen stocked and in order., • Keep service areas clean and tidy throughout., • Learn the menu, the allergens and the sequence of service., • Communicate clearly with the kitchen and the floor., • Help with opening and closing the restaurant. The right attitude, energy and willingness to learn matter most., • Quick on your feet, observant and reliable., • A team player who wants a career in hospitality., • Good timekeeping and a smart, tidy presentation.
