Competitive salary: £37,389 - £44,307 Additional earnings: Standby allowance, overtime and call-out payment As a Mechanical Craftsperson , you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our water treatment assets, pumping stations, and reservoirs. Your expertise will help ensure a safe, reliable water service for our communities while protecting the environment. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll tackle complex mechanical challenges, develop your technical skills, and work as part of a team that keeps essential services running. What you'll be doing: Carrying out reactive maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on a wide range of mechanical assets. Manufacturing, modifying and fabricating parts and equipment when required. Producing detailed specifications for replacement components and equipment. Supporting operational teams in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical issues. Working safely and ensuring compliance with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS). Participating in the standby and call-out rota to support operational resilience. Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset performance and reliability. What we're looking for: A completed apprenticeship in a mechanical or relevant technical discipline. Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to repair complex mechanical assets. A sound understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safety-critical environment. Experience working within wastewater treatment processes would be advantageous. Why join us?
