We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician (Articifer) to join an established team in the Maintenance and Engineering department. This role requires hands-on expertise in maintaining and improving industrial equipment within a manufacturing environment in St. Helens. \n Client Details \n A St Helens-based Manufacturing and Production business specialising in advanced glass fibre and glass cord materials, primarily used to reinforce automotive timing belts and other industrial applications. It operates as part of a global glass manufacturing group and supplies specialised materials to customers worldwide \n Description \n As the Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician (Articifer) you will be tasked with the following; \n \n \n · Diagnose electrical and mechanical breakdowns to restore equipment; by reviewing drawings/documentation, repair and/or redesign, in order to avoid or minimise production downtime and losses. Repairing equipment which is predominantly Mechanical such as; Gearboxes, Belts, Sprockets, Conveyors, Drive Shafts, Ovens, Spools, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps etc. \n · Create, modify, and review risk assessments and standard operating procedures in accordance with Group Policy, legislative requirements and industry best practice. \n · Undertake preventative maintenance of plant equipment, services, distribution and alarm systems to avoid downtime/losses. \n · Electrical work up to 415V will be completed and may include live working. \n · Ensure reporting processes (verbal/written) relating to maintenance activity, processing of engineering spare parts and storage records are adhered to. \n · Contribute to a range of continuous improvement activities, including maximising performance of plant, equipment and control systems, driving housekeeping standards (5S), reducing energy consumption and environmental impacts. \n · Supervision of apprentices, trainees/ and contractors. \n · Project co-ordination and administration of maintenance systems/drawings. \n · Active involvement in health and safety activities to ensure hazards are identified and eliminated; and highest standards achieved. \n Profile \n A successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician (Articifer) will have the following; \n \n · Time served engineering apprenticeship, qualified to HNC/HND ideally in Electrical Engineering, or alternatively Mechanical Engineering. \n · Exceptional safety awareness with knowledge and skills associated with a manufacturing environment. \n · Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods in accordance with standard operating procedures and capable of identifying, generating, and organising own workload. \n · Flexibility in working with engineering/manufacturing teams, to achieve KPI standards/ \n targets and continuous improvements. \n · Strong verbal and written communication skills \n · Ability to work in accordance with a continuous shift pattern Rota; with flexibility to adapt in line with the needs of the business. \n work pattern to respond to change in priorities/emergency situations. \n \n Job Offer \n\n • Competitive salary ranging from £46,617 to £58,445 per annum.\n, • Generous pension scheme with up to 8% employer contribution.\n, • 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays.\n, • Death-in-service benefit equivalent to three times your salary.\n, • Shift and disturbance allowances to reward your flexibility.\n\n If you are ready to take the next step in your career as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician in St. Helens, apply today to join this leading organisation in the industrial and manufacturing sector.
