Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview As a Maths Graduate TA, you will play a key role in supporting students across KS3 and KS4, helping to raise attainment and confidence in mathematics. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting students in Maths lessons on a 1:1 and small group basis, • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management, • Breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, engaging explanations, • Delivering targeted interventions for students who need additional support, • Stretching and challenging high-achieving students, • Supporting with lesson preparation and resource creation, • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff, • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessonsRequirements, • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (Essential), • A strong desire to pursue a career in teaching, • Excellent subject knowledge and confidence in Maths, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • A proactive, enthusiastic, and resilient approach, • Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential), • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What's on Offer, • A supportive and high-performing secondary school in Finchley, • Full-time role: Monday to Friday, term-time only, • The perfect stepping stone into teacher training, • Ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development, • Opportunity to gain school-based experience ahead of a PGCE or SCITT For more information, please contact Elizabeth Topley by emailing or calling (option 3).
