We are seeking a hardworking, organized, and service-oriented Barback to support our bartending and beverage teams in delivering an exceptional experience for our guests. The Barback plays a critical role in maintaining an efficient, clean, and fully stocked bar throughout service. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, attentive to detail, able to anticipate the needs of the bar team, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong teamwork, physical stamina, a positive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining Norte's standards of hospitality and excellence. In preparation for our upcoming opening, this position requires participation in a mandatory training program. Key Responsibilities • Support bartenders throughout service by anticipating and responding to their needs, • Maintain fully stocked bar stations with spirits, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other necessary supplies, • Prepare and replenish garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients as directed, • Maintain adequate ice levels throughout service and replenish ice as needed, • Restock beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and other beverage products throughout the shift, • Retrieve and organize bottles, supplies, and equipment from storage areas, • Assist with opening and closing duties, including bar setup, breakdown, cleaning, and restocking, • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar, back bar, service areas, and storage spaces, • Collect, wash, polish, and organize glassware and bar equipment as needed, • Remove empty bottles, trash, and other waste promptly and appropriately, • Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and storing beverage deliveries, • Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock items or shortages to management, • Maintain proper organization of beverage storage areas and ensure products are stored appropriately, • Support bartenders and the beverage team during high-volume service to ensure efficient and seamless operations, • Assist with maintaining proper sanitation and food-safety standards throughout the bar area, • Follow all restaurant policies, procedures, and standards of service, • Comply with all applicable local and state health, safety, and alcohol service regulations, • Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, managers, and other team members, • Demonstrate professionalism, urgency, and a positive attitude throughout each shift, • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management Qualifications • Previous restaurant, barback, beverage, or hospitality experience preferred, • Previous high-volume or fine dining experience, • Basic knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, and bar operations, • Strong understanding of restaurant etiquette and hospitality standards, • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and allergy protocols, • Strong organizational and time-management skills, • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills, • Ability to anticipate the needs of the bar team and work proactively, • Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization, • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, • Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, carry, and move throughout the restaurant, • Ability to move and lift items up to 50 lbs as needed, • Ability to safely transport cases of beverages, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time Compensation Details • Compensation: $17.00 per hour, plus tips, Tip Credit Laws applicable, • Schedule: Full-time and part-time positions available, • Benefits & Perks: Paid Sick Leave, Employee Discounts Additional Information This job description is intended to outline the general nature and responsibilities of the role.
