SUMMARY New York Edge is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and mission-oriented individual to fill the role of Family Development Coach (FDC) in our High School Youth: Educational Support program area. The FDC will develop a partnership between student participants and their families and include helping participants set reachable goals for their own self-reliance, methods for achieving them, and providing or facilitating access to services needed to reach these goals, offering encouragement, and exploring challenges and opportunities to identify solutions for themselves. The power of the relationship exists between the participant and the FDC and will be built on mutual respect and trust. The FDC will focus on changing behaviors rather than “fixing problems," and will support participants in identifying and developing their strengths. The FDC will coordinate services and ensure that they are aligned and integrated with participants’ needs and goals. Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 annually Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm This job requires you to be in-person. PROGRAMMATIC OVERSIGHT Maintain an emotionally and physically safe environment for youth that meets all compliance and safety requirements set forth by the organization, DOE, DOH, funders and applicable labor law. Identify needs of the targeted students, apply interventions, and track and monitor input and impact of interventions for weekly meetings about student progress. RELATIONSHIP AND PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT Provide holistic assessment, creation, and implementation of a Family Development Plan (FDP) that outlines participants’ strengths and self-defined goals, specific steps to take to achieve goals, available supports and resources needed, and a realistic timeline to meet the goals. Regularly review the FDP to assess whether goals have been met or need to be adjusted mid-course, Provide follow-up to ensure that the participants have received requested services. Cultivate and forge positive relationships with Principal, Assistant Principals, teachers, parents and parent coordinators and other key constituents in the community to engage their support in ensuring programmatic quality for the youth we serve. Help broker new partnerships aligned with student goals and needs. Collaborate with all program partners on program delivery to align with the goals in relation to student achievement and performance. Establish parent involvement in areas of advocacy, special events, daily operations, education, and trips. Identify and utilize community resources, including other schools, libraries, community and local government agencies. Work effectively with internship sites. Conduct outreach to students and families. Candidates should be comfortable speaking in public to large groups and have experience in a customer-facing environment. Primary Responsibilities: • Conduct Yankee Stadium tours in a fun, informative, safe and engaging manner for individuals and groups, • Maintain organization of guests while touring Yankee Stadium, • Adhere to Yankee Stadium safety and standard policies and expectations, • Communicate effectively with tour leadership, administrative staff, and guests to support efficient tour operations and exceptional guest service, • Distribute promotional items as directed by tour leadership team to tour guests, • Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned Qualifications and Experience: • Prior experience conducting tours, • Performative backgrounds a plus, • Bilingual/Spanish speaking a plus, • Demonstrated customer service experience, • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, • Ability to multitask and prioritize, • Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays), • Ability to work in an outdoor stadium environment, • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., • Knowledge of baseball history preferred The hourly rate for this role is $22/hour. Program Summary: The Family Development Coach provides direct case management and participant support services to fathers enrolled in the Fatherhood Initiative. The role focuses on individualized service planning, goal attainment, and strengthening family engagement through a strengths-based and participant-centered approach. Responsibilities: Conduct participant intake, assessment, and enrollment activities. Develop and monitor Individual Service Plans for each participant. Meet with participants individually on a monthly basis to support goal attainment. Provide referrals and coordinate service linkages to community resources. Support participants during program participation and for a minimum of three months post-exit. • Track attendance, participation, and progress in required data systems., • Utilize approved case management tools and frameworks., • Collaborate with Training Specialists to align case management with group programming., • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all participant interactions and services., • Other duties as assigned. Other responsibilities include maintaining records, traveling to conduct coaching sessions, conferring with supervisors, assisting with organization of staffing and logistics, and ensuring services are delivered with dignity and privacy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Create lesson plans and conduct parenting classes at program sites and remotely., • Implement and evaluate short and long-term goals and objectives., • Identify performance/behavior gaps, make recommendations, and provide solutions to improve performance., • Develop independent learning activities to ensure concepts learned during training programs are applied., • Engage parents with I/DD to promote skill development and learning at the sites., • Maintain records of attendance and progress, write reports as requested., • Travel alone to parent's house or community setting to conduct coaching sessions., • Confer with supervisor or other agency personnel regarding problems, questions, and suggestions., • Assist in organizing staffing, transportation, and logistics for in-person sessions., • Ensure services are rendered with utmost regard for personal dignity, privacy, and confidentiality., • Participate in activities outside of the classroom, such as coaching sessions in the home or community setting., • Perform observations and make recommendations to program management., • Serve and participate as a member at interdisciplinary team meetings, reviews, family meetings, etc., • Perform other related duties as requested.
