  • Financial & Inventory Control: Oversee ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory tracking. Implement portion controls and waste-reduction strategies to meet food cost goals.
  • Team Leadership & Training: Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff. Hold the team accountable to performance standards and foster a positive, high-energy work culture.
  • Culinary Excellence: Serve as the ultimate gatekeeper for quality control, ensuring every dish perfectly matches The Nest’s recipes, presentation, and speed-of-service metrics.
  • DOHMH Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to NYC health department regulations. Ensure the kitchen passes any inspection with flying colors through rigorous daily food safety audits.
  • Facilities & Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, calibrated, and properly maintained; troubleshoot operational issues proactively.
