The ideal candidate will have dishwashing experience in a fast-paced kitchen, intermediate knife skills, and a strong work ethic. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Dishwasher/Prep Cook who is passionate about food, music, and culture to join our kitchen team. As a Dishwasher/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for washing dishes and cookware, keeping the dish area clean and organized, and preparing food according to the Executive Chef's specifications. You will be expected to work alongside cooks, servers and managers, bringing a positive attitude to the workplace. You will also be held to high standards of cleanliness and organization, being sure to abide by all local laws and regulations concerning food preparation, sanitation and storage. Key Responsibilities Wash dishes and cookware in accordance with all local laws and regulations concerning proper sanitation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including proper dish machine maintenance and use. Restock all stations with clean plates and utensils, store clean equipment in proper storage areas. Execute prep tasks including portioning food, chopping vegetables and cleaning shellfish. Prepare and store food efficiently, adhering to high standards of food preparation and storage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste. Possess a strong understanding of food safety regulations, including adherence to temperature control and sanitation guidelines. Bring a professional attitude to the workplace, maintaining a positive atmosphere and work environment in both the Front and Back of house. Be willing to perform tasks beyond your workstation, including cleaning of all kitchen areas, storage areas, and helping with special events. Qualifications 1+ years in a high volume, professional kitchen preferred Intermediate knife skills and knowledge of proper cooking technique and kitchen equipment use Excellent organizational and communication skills Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to be a "team player" Ability to read and execute recipes and follow directions Ability to demonstrate calmness under pressure and execute tasks in a timely manner
