Job Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. They work as part of the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring.
Cook and plate menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned cooking stations.
Ensure food quality, freshness, and consistency.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to the Kitchen Supervisor or Chef.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff during service periods.
Minimize food waste and follow portion control guidelines.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Staff is an advantage.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
