WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING We're seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals ready for a summer adventure. As the Greenpoint Camp Director, you'll be the heart of our camp, overseeing all aspects of camp management and creating a safe, memorable experience for the staff and campers Your summer duties will include: - Dedicate in-person and remote time during the preseason to coordinate camp logistics with key departments (e.g. Marketing & Development, Operations, People & Culture, Program Management). - Attend pre-camp orientations hosted by the Department of Healthy and Kids in the Game staff, and help to structure and coordinate training for your camp staff before and during camp. - Participate in weekly Camp Director meetings and trainings from April-June to be fully trained in your camp administration and supervision responsibilities. - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the camp, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff members. - Assign staff to camp groups, assess their ability to work with different age groups, offer regular feedback to continuously improve staff performance, and administer staff evaluations twice per summer. - Keep staff personnel files up-to-date and compliant with Department of Health regulations, and ensure that staff certifications are valid and on-site at all times. - Ensure that all necessary forms are in place before a child enters any program, including up-to-date physicals, immunization records, registration forms, waivers, etc. - Monitor daily camp enrollment and maintain accurate attendance records for staff and campers. - Organize and support the implementation of the Kids in the Game summer camp schedule & programming, including weekly themes, team time & group games, structured arts, sports, movement, and STEM activities, swim schedule, field trips, and special events - Notify parents/guardians of children about session dates, camp trips, theme days and schedule changes well in advance, and remain accessible to parents throughout the summer. - Ensure that all program equipment and supplies are ordered, available and properly maintained during the summer. - Maintain and enforce all camp safety rules and policies; recognize, prevent and correct safety hazards; monitor the health and safety of all campers and staff. - Act as a key player in problem solving staff/camper issues and parental concerns; be able to identify camper behavior issues and respond with corrective steps. - Communicate regularly with the Camps Supervisor and other key leaders from internal departments to ensure compliance with camp operations, supervision, and administration procedures. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are actively seeking coaches, college students, and youth development specialists to join our dynamic team of recess, after-school coaches, and activity specialists from October 2024 through June 2025. As a valued member of Kids in the Game, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our school programming, which focuses on incorporating educational and engaging sports and fitness classes during the traditional after-school hours. The Regional Sub role is designed for someone who can be both a recess coach and an after school coach. Our regional subs would be responsible for working 2-3 days per week, preferably between 9-6pm. They would be assigned to “home base” locations for a recess site in the morning (9am-1pm) and an after school site in the afternoon (2-6pm) within their designated region. - The current regions for coverage are Manhattan & Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn, or Manhattan & Brooklyn. - If there is a coach absent at another program, the Regional Sub will be reassigned to cover their recess and / or after school programs if it’s within their region. The boroughs you would travel to would be established during the onboarding process. - Regional subs would be working closely with our Program Management Team and Scheduling Manager to ensure available shifts are covered, and the on-site expectations at each location are met for the program type. - Regional Subs would implement a series of age-appropriate group games and activities across programs for children and young adults from Pre-K to middle school. - Typically, our coaches work anywhere from 2-3 days and 10-20 hours per week (depending on availability and skill set) at a competitive hourly rate. Title: Saturday Academy Associate Instructor, Math Reports To: Senior Manager of Teaching and Learning FLSA: Part-time, Seasonal Location: New York City, in-person. Dates: Spring Semester; Exact Saturday dates of programming vary based on which Grade Instructor is placed (see specific dates below) Compensation: $40/hr for 6.5 standard (required) + 3 flex (use as needed) hours per week There will also be opportunities for Summer Academy and Fall Saturday Academy in the future. ** Position Overview** Associate Instructors will join SEO’s community of passionate educators to implement a rigorous college prep curriculum for motivated and driven high school students. Using our original curriculum and a student-centered approach to teaching and learning, Associate Instructors co-teach Math for 9th or 10th grade Scholars in New York City. Associate Instructors are the first to cover classes when instructors are out or they co-teach alongside Instructors to facilitate classroom instruction, teach mini lessons, organize small group and one-on-one instruction, and provide additional Scholar support. Associate Instructors do not have grading responsibilities. ** The Courses** Instructors will be placed depending on their self-reported proficiency and demo lesson.
