Our growing team is seeking a talented Senior Fashion Designer with expertise in 2-6x and infant size ranges to lead design and development for our infant collections. Position Summary: The Senior Fashion Designer will be responsible for the creative direction, design execution, and product development of infant apparel collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of toddler, girls, and infant sizing, safety regulations, and current fashion trends relevant to this age group. We are a collaborative team that is on site 5-days a week. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop seasonal collections for 2-6x and infant girls that align with brand vision and market trends., • Create original sketches, technical drawings, and color palettes., • Collaborate with the merchandising and production teams to ensure designs meet cost targets and delivery schedules., • Conduct trend research, market analysis, and attend trade shows as needed., • Oversee fittings and adjustments, ensuring proper fit, function, and comfort for infants., • Work closely with fabric and trim sourcing teams to select appropriate materials., • Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative, creative studio environment., • Maintain knowledge of CPSC regulations and industry best practices for infant apparel safety. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field., • Minimum 7 years of experience in apparel design, with at least 3 years focused on infant or toddler apparel., • Strong portfolio showcasing design experience in infant size ranges., • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software., • Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fit, and infant safety standards., • Strong communication and presentation skills., • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. We are seeking a skilled Patternmaker to join our creative and production team. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision and fit, we’d love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: • Create first patterns from design sketches and technical specs., • Interpret designer's vision while ensuring functionality and comfort for children’s wear., • Modify and finalize patterns based on fit sessions and feedback., • Work closely with design and sample room teams to ensure accurate construction and fit., • Maintain pattern library and ensure consistent grading across size ranges. Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in patternmaking, ideally in children's apparel., • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, and grading., • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills., • Attention to detail with an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: • Experience in woven and/or knit dresses for toddlers to preteens., • Understanding of children’s sizing and safety considerations in garment design.

Role Description This is a part-time on-site Fashion Design Intern role located in New York, NY at Star Children’s Dress Company. The intern will assist in fashion design, graphic design, fashion styling, textiles, and sewing tasks to contribute to the creation of our latest dress collections. This is a paid role at $16.50/hr. Rate will go up to $17.00 is 2025. Qualifications • Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, and Textiles skills, • Graphic Design skills, • Sewing skills, • Strong attention to detail and creativity, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, • Strong communication and collaboration skills, • Knowledge of current fashion trends, • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, • Currently enrolled in or completed a fashion design program is preferred
