***This position is for a Per-Diem Daycare substitute assistant****
This a Home Based Licensed Group Family Daycare located in Woodside, Queens.
We are seeking to hire a Daycare Substitute Assistant. The ideal candidate must be willing to provide child care to infants and toddlers as needed per-diem (based on the attendance/ratio of the children present) in the event additional coverage is needed within the program; commit to overseeing the daily functions of the program, provide a loving and professional environment, while providing leadership experience to both our children and parents.
Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and play with children to ensure safety.
  • Ensure safety and oversight of all children at all times
  • Keep the facility clean and well maintained.
  • Adhere to local and state child care laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the security of all records associated with the daycare
  • Personal care to include diaper changing, toileting, meal preparation, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of toys, mats, tables and chairs, bathroom, sweeping, washing dishes, etc .
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Provider
  • Maintain and upkeep trainings as required by Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)
  • Be able to provide care and oversight from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:30 am -4:30 pm Monday-Friday as needed on a per-diem basis (on-call). Please be advised, due to mandated ratios regulations by Department of Health, this may change.

MUST BE WILLING TO OBTAIN THE FOLLOWING WITH NO EXCEPTIONS:
· Fingerprinting
· A Current Medical and Immunization Records (due annually)
· State Central Register (SCR) Clearance
· First Aid and CPR Certification (Provided by the program upon hiring)
· Provide 2 Professional or personal References
*****2 or more years of childcare experience is required. *****
*****As per Department of Health Regulation; candidates must be 18 years or older to provide childcare*****
*****The ability to transfer from substitute to a regularly scheduled part time assistant is possible*****
Please note: the program is located on the third floor of an apartment building; there is no elevator; the ideal candidate must be comfortable with walking stairs.
Qualifications

  • Toddler care experience
  • Infant care experience
  • 2 years of childcare experience minimum

Requirements
Two or more years of childcare experience needed
Ability to pass the SCR background check during employment is required
ITIN or Social Security Number is required to complete the SCR Background check
Annual Medical Examination
Two references (Two Personal or Two Professional or One Personal and One Professional Reference).
