    Job Title: Preschool Meal Preparer (Part-Time) Location: My Little University Preschool – East Rutherford, NJ Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM Reports to: Program Director Position Overview: My Little University Preschool is seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Meal Preparer to join our early childhood team. This part-time position is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snack for preschool-aged children in a nurturing and health-conscious environment. This is a non-cooking role—no stove is used. Meals are pre-planned and primarily frozen. The preschool kitchen is equipped with two ovens and crock pots for heating meals and preparing simple items like rice and pasta. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snack for children following the weekly menu Use ovens and crock pots to heat and prepare meals safely and efficiently. Follow daily food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures. Portion meals appropriately for age groups and individual dietary needs (vegetarian, allergy accommodations, etc.). Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, dishes, and equipment daily. Maintain an organized and well-stocked kitchen area, reporting low inventory to the administrative team. Ensure food is labeled, stored properly, and rotated by expiration dates. Follow all licensing regulations and school policies regarding food service. Collaborate with staff to ensure meals are delivered to classrooms on time. Qualifications: Prior experience in food preparation, preferably in a school, childcare, or institutional setting. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handler Certification a plus or must be obtained upon hire). Ability to follow a set meal plan and detailed instructions. Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently. Must be reliable, punctual, and organized. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Passion for working in an environment that serves young children. The primary role of the Education Specialist/Coach is to build strengths-based relationships with affiliated providers to support them as needed and, in particular, with implementing high quality play-based instruction. Responsibilities: ● Collaborate with the FCC Education Director, FCC Family Support Worker, and FCC Monitors to meet the needs of all children and families. ● Provide twice monthly strength-based practice-based coaching to a cohort of affiliated providers as they implement a mixed-age curriculum. ● Adapt and provide guidance to affiliated providers on the implementation of an evidence-based curriculum for mixed-age group settings that meets the individual needs of all children. ● Review and adapt appropriate curriculum supports and documents with affiliated providers that foster hands-on developmentally appropriate and relationship-based interactions with all children. ● Assist affiliated providers gathering observations of children and entering child assessment data in a timely manner and support its use for curriculum and lesson planning. ● Document all coaching sessions aligned with the DOE’s Early Childhood Framework for Quality (EFQ). ● Assist in ongoing outreach, enrollment, and all other administrative tasks. ● Support FCC Education Director in coordinating all required professional learning days –ongoing. ● Maintain relationships with community partners who provide mental health, special needs, and other support services for all affiliated providers and families. ● Create and regularly update Community Partner Resource Guide within FCC Network. ● Participate in twice-monthly FCC Network staff meetings to connect about individual providers, families, and coordinate all services. ● Participate in Network staff professional learning sessions delivered. ● Other tasks as assigned by FCC Education Director/FCC Director. ● Travel within FCC Network catchment area is REQUIRED Skills: ● Time management skills are essential * Ability to multitask *Must be a team player * Must be flexible with changing schedules and priorities. *Skilled Communicator * Appreciation for the unique needs of all providers and families.
