Job Description Senior EDI Coordinator / EDI Analyst / EDI Specialist Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior EDI Coordinator to own and manage all aspects of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations in a high-volume retail, wholesale, and distribution environment. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role responsible for end-to-end EDI execution, including trading partner onboarding, EDI mapping, testing, certification, production go-live, and ongoing support. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on EDI experience, works independently with minimal supervision, and serves as the EDI Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the organization. Key Responsibilities • Own and manage day-to-day EDI operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all inbound and outbound EDI transactions, • Monitor EDI transaction flows and troubleshoot errors, failures, exceptions, and reprocessing issues, • Design, build, maintain, and test EDI maps for ANSI X12 transaction sets, including:, • 850 (Purchase Order), • 855 (Purchase Order Acknowledgment), • 856 (Advance Ship Notice), • 810 (Invoice), • 846 (Inventory Advice), • 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order), • 945 (Warehouse Shipping Advice), • Lead EDI onboarding for new trading partners, including retailers, customers, vendors, carriers, and 3PLs, • Coordinate EDI implementation projects from requirements review through mapping, testing, certification, and production deployment, • Review and implement trading partner implementation guides, routing instructions, and compliance requirements, • Act as the primary point of contact for EDI issues, escalations, and trading partner communications, • Collaborate with internal teams (ERP, WMS, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and IT) to ensure seamless integration, • Support post–go-live validation, production stability, and ongoing EDI enhancements, • Maintain comprehensive EDI documentation, including mappings, partner profiles, SOPs, testing results, and certifications, • Support retailer compliance initiatives, including chargeback research, audits, scorecards, and operational KPIs Required Qualifications • 10+ years of hands-on EDI experience in a production environment, • Strong expertise in EDI mapping, testing, troubleshooting, and trading partner onboarding, • Deep knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI standards (EDIFACT experience a plus), • Experience integrating EDI with ERP systems such as AS400, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics, • Experience integrating EDI with WMS systems, • Hands-on experience with EDI communication protocols, including AS2, SFTP, FTP, and FTPS, • Experience with EDI platforms or service providers such as SPS Commerce, Cleo, IBM Sterling, TrueCommerce, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar middleware tools, • Ability to interpret and implement complex retailer and trading partner EDI specifications, • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting large retailers, big-box customers, or high-volume retail EDI environments, • Background in consumer products, manufacturing, wholesale, logistics, or distribution, • Experience managing retailer compliance programs, including chargebacks, routing guides, scorecards, and SLAs, • Ability to manage multiple EDI onboarding and testing projects simultaneously Additional Information • This is a hands-on EDI role, not a managerial or administrative position, • Requires independent ownership, accountability, and execution, • Operationally focused role supporting retail, supply chain, and logistics EDI workflows
