Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse Associate Job Description The Warehouse Associate supports efficient warehouse operations by accurately receiving, storing, picking, and shipping products in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. This role ensures proper inventory rotation, maintains a clean and organized warehouse, and collaborates closely with manufacturing, inventory control, and quality teams to uphold product integrity and operational accuracy. Responsibilities • Receive all inbound freight and perform put-away activities in accordance with established procedural standards., • Pick customer orders and third-party logistics (3PL) items accurately and prepare them for shipment following procedural standards., • Support product distribution to and from manufacturing, ensuring timely and accurate material flow., • Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) rotation practices to maintain proper inventory management., • Ensure the warehouse stocking area remains clean, organized, and well maintained in accordance with applicable safety rules and regulations., • Receive and tag items in the warehouse using barcode labels, pallet tags, allergen stickers, and other identification tools., • Organize stocked items so they are clearly labeled, allergen-separated, and readily accessible for picking and distribution., • Inspect inventory items for defects or damage and promptly report findings to the Inventory Control Department., • Report any quality defects related to ingredients or products to the Quality Control team., • Use RF scanning systems to perform receiving, put-away, picking, and inventory control tasks., • Operate warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and related material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner., • Work from pick lists and system-driven reports to complete orders and inventory movements accurately., • Maintain clear and professional communication with team members and other departments to support efficient warehouse operations., • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including proper use of equipment and adherence to facility guidelines., • Handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Essential Skills, • Demonstrated knowledge and practical use of RF scanning systems in a warehouse environment., • Previous training and experience operating reach trucks and high-lows., • Working knowledge of FIFO (First-In, First-Out) systems for inventory rotation., • Ability to work effectively from pick lists and system-driven reports., • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage several responsibilities simultaneously., • Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus., • Ability to build excellent working relationships and collaborate efficiently with others., • High level of self-motivation, confidence, energy, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure., • Strong attention to detail with standard mathematical acumen for counts, measures, and basic calculations., • Sound understanding and application of warehouse safety rules and regulations., • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel for basic documentation and reporting., • Ability to safely use warehouse equipment, including reach trucks, hand trucks, and pallet jacks., • Physical ability to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift., • Physical ability to frequently sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required by warehouse tasks., • Ability to regularly use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls and to reach with hands and arms., • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds., • Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with inventory control, including stock inspection and reporting of defects or damage., • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse setting., • Familiarity with FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) rotation practices., • Experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking., • Material handling experience in dry, refrigerated, and freezer environments., • Comfort working near moving machinery and mechanical parts, including work at heights when required., • Ability to remain focused and detail-oriented in environments with moderate noise and occasional vibration., • Comfort working around products that may contain peanuts, milk, and tree nuts, with adherence to allergen separation practices.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates on a first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You will work in a combination of dry, refrigerated, and freezer warehouse conditions, regularly moving between different temperature zones as needed. The position involves regular exposure to moving machinery and mechanical parts, and at times work in elevated areas. You may occasionally encounter wet or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate but can occasionally increase depending on operational activity. Products handled in the facility may contain peanuts, milk, and tree nuts, and the warehouse uses allergen separation practices to maintain safety and compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
