We Make It Work. Job Description As a Senior Formwork Designer at Doka USA, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of formwork systems for construction projects. Leveraging your expertise in formwork design principles, structural engineering, and CAD software, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective formwork solutions that meet project requirements and exceed client expectations. This role will be an in-person role based out of our Kenilworth, NJ, branch and will report to the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities: • Lead the design and development of formwork systems for a wide range of construction projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial structures., • Conduct comprehensive structural analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of designs, considering factors such as load capacity, stability, and material specifications., • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints., • Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create detailed formwork drawings, plans, and schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations., • Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and drafters, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team., • Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in formwork technology, and regulatory changes, incorporating best practices into design processes and methodologies., • Participate in project meetings, reviews, and presentations, communicating design concepts, progress updates, and recommendations to stakeholders., • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing design processes, enhancing product quality, and maximizing efficiency.Qualifications, • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field., • Proven experience in formwork design and engineering within the construction industry., • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools., • Strong knowledge of formwork design principles, structural analysis, and building codes., • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality and innovative solutions., • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and engage with clients and stakeholders., • Prior experience in project management or leadership roles is preferred., • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus. Additional Information In accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws, Doka USA Ltd. is committed to providing a clear and equitable compensation structure. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually, which is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. This range represents the base pay for the position and does not include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or other forms of compensation. Benefits/Perks • Flexible Schedule, • Competitive Pay Responsibilities • Fully understand the project scope and requirements by studying documentation, meeting with clients, and visiting relevant locations, • Develop detailed estimates for equipment replacements, retrofits, system upgrades, and specialized HVAC and process cooling projects, • Experience with AIA documents, understanding the specific clauses, terms, and conditions that impact cost estimation, • Work collaboratively with sales, service, and engineering teams to ensure projects are executed according to specifications and within budget, • Conduct site surveys to gather critical project information, • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards, • Collect necessary documentation such as plans, drawings, and project specifications, • Determine the key variables for cost and conduct research to determine expected labor and materials costs, • Gather bids and negotiate with service providers to secure the best possible prices, • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, • Minimum 5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC and process cooling estimating experience, • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is preferred, • Previous experience as an Estimator is preferred, • Ability to forecast building costs and knowledge of estimation formulas, • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail, • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office, • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, • Excellent research, writing, and negotiation skills
