Job Description Our organization is in search of a Chief of Endocrinology and Medical Director of Pituitary and Neuro to join our expanding Division of Endocrinology! Medical Director: The primary goal for this position is to elevate the existing Pituitary Care Research Center into a "Pituitary Center of Excellence." This will be achieved through collaboration with neurosurgeons, adhering to the standards and benchmarks established by Casanueva et al. in the journal Pituitary. This center will serve as a focal point for specialized patient care and fellowship education. Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Establishing a clinical practice within the Neurosurgery and Endocrine Faculty to treat patients with pituitary and general endocrine disorders. * Participating in the division's on-call rotation and providing inpatient endocrine care on a consultation basis as scheduled. * Engaging in clinically focused quality improvement initiatives set forth by the Division, Department of Medicine, and the broader health system to enhance care for patients with endocrine conditions admitted to the hospital. Chief of Endocrinology: We are looking to recruit an exceptional Physician-Scientist to take on the role of Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Disease within the Department of Medicine. Our organization ranks among the top 10-12 nationally for NIH funding and is situated in a picturesque area of New York City, adjacent to 5th Avenue and Central Park. The Endocrinology Division has multiple satellite practices throughout the city and excels in managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, MASH, MAFLD, obesity, thyroid disorders, adrenal issues, pituitary conditions, and reproductive disorders. Additionally, we host one of the largest automated insulin delivery (AID) system programs in the United States. Our group is also recognized for its foundational research in pancreatic beta cell regenerative drug development, MASH/MAFLD, and prostate cancer research. The organization is also highly regarded for its research in neuroscience, immunology, pulmonary health, gastrointestinal studies, oncology, genomics, and bioinformatics. Division Administration: The Chief will oversee the overall management of the Division, which includes: * Formulating strategic plans and objectives for the Division that align with the Department of Medicine and the broader health system. * Managing all financial, operational, and personnel matters within the Division and the health system. * Supervising divisional faculty, including the recruitment of new members. * Enhancing the national reputation of the Division through scholarship, education, and innovation in clinical practice, particularly in relation to the system's focus on population health management. Clinical Responsibilities: The Division Chief will: * Oversee the comprehensive management of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Disease, including the creation of an academically focused training program, expansion of the clinical program, growth of the basic research initiative, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the Division while enhancing its clinical and scientific standing. * Handle administrative duties such as conducting annual performance evaluations for faculty and staff, preparing budget reports, managing profit and loss statements, coordinating staffing, and establishing policies in line with departmental and institutional guidelines. * Guide the development of clinical practices, including the strategic growth of two Sinai Doctors faculty practices located on the Upper West Side. Education and Mentoring Responsibilities: The Division Chief will: * Possess a proven track record of mentorship at all levels, fostering the development of both Clinician-Educators and Clinician-Researchers. * Create innovative educational objectives that align with the goals of the System's Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the Department of Medicine. * Support the development and enhancement of new curricula within the Endocrinology Fellowship Program. * Oversee all educational activities within the Division, including training for medical students, house staff, fellowship programs, and continuing medical education. The educational program should encompass bedside training, didactic sessions, conference preparation, and a comprehensive written curriculum. * Ensure that the curriculum aligns with the objectives set forth by the Residency Review Committee guidelines. Qualifications: * Applicants must possess an MD or DO degree. * Eligibility for a New York medical license is required, along with board certification or eligibility in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism; preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees. * Significant experience in clinical practice development, mentorship, and faculty management is highly desirable. * Experience and accomplishments suitable for a faculty appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level at the Icahn School of Medicine. * Demonstrated leadership experience in academic medicine, clinical practice, or professional organizations is essential. * National recognition in clinical, translational, and/or basic research is required. * Candidates should possess the necessary experience and leadership qualities to create a vision for sustaining and expanding all aspects of the Division's mission while fostering a collaborative and collegial work environment. * High character and the ability to lead by example in a consistent manner are essential. * Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, be open to differences, lead effectively at all levels of the organization, build diverse networks, and treat all individuals fairly and equitably. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a diverse academic and clinical setting are crucial. Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $239,000 and $500,000, excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, collections, and community needs. Therefore, actual salaries may be closer to either end of the range and, in some cases, may fall outside the listed range. The stated salary range applies to full-time positions and does not include bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits.
