American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Glendale, California. • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/03/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department night shift assignment in California, requiring a current CA RN license and strong competency in ER care. • Position is in the Emergency Department of an acute care setting, • 15-bed ER with 6-chair waiting area, averaging 120-130 patients per day, • Certified Primary Stroke Center and designated to treat pediatric emergencies, with 10-12% pediatric population, • Patient ratios are based on acuity, • Required to work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend scheduled, • Multiple shift options are available, but travelers will be scheduled for days, midshifts, or nights as determined by department need, • ER utilizes Cerner and Meditech charting systems, • Charge nurses do not take patient assignments and EMTs perform regular tech duties, • Monitor tech available who also serves as unit secretary; RNs must be able to read cardiac strips, • RN staff are responsible for drawing their own labs, • Ventilator patients cared for in the unit, • No floating outside the Emergency Department is required, • Floor-specific orientation comprised of 2-3 shifts on the unit, • Duties include management of a broad spectrum of emergency presentations including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and pediatrics, • Medication scanning is required for all RNs, with high compliance expected, • Nurses are required to perform their own lab draws due to lack of an IV team, • Security presence is maintained 24/7 in the ER lobby, • Scrub attire is navy, • First-time traveling nurses will be considered, • Holiday coverage may be required as needed, • Travelers may not have been employed full or part time by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities within the last year, • Active and current CA RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 3 years of recent ER nursing experience required, • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and proof of COVID vaccination, • Preferred certification: TNCC, • Experience with Cerner and Meditech EMR systems is a plus, • Must provide at least two recent professional references, including one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years, • Valid driver’s license required, • Must be able to successfully pass medication scanning protocols, • Travel experience preferred, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-610911.
