Job Description Passaic County Community College is seeking a School Nurse that will report directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for promoting the health and well-being of students and staff by providing health services, managing chronic conditions, responding to medical emergencies and support a healthy school environment. This role is vital in ensuring that students are healthy, safe, and read to learn. This is a 10-month position. Example of Duties: • Provide direct care to students and staff for injuries and acute or chronic illness., • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers., • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations., • Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and follow up as needed., • Support children with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, allergies, diabetes) through individualized care plans., • Monitor and manage communicable diseases and report to public health authorities as required., • Work as a team to educate students, staff and families on health-related topics and preventive care., • Collaborate with school students, staff, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health and academic success., • Promote hygiene practices such as handwashing, toileting, and diapering in collaboration with teachers., • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred., • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NJ., • CPR and First Aid certification required; School Nurse Certification preferred. Compensation: Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $71,225.
