You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position. \n\n Why You Should Apply: \n\n\n\t • Future Start Date Assignment with flexible timing\n\t, • Start Date subject to change, as early as 12/15 - as late as 1/12\n\t, • 4x9 hour days\n\t, • Call rotations and weekends as needed\n\n\nRequired Certifications\n\n\n\t, • BLS (through AHA or RQI specifically) required\n\t, • OR Tech certification required\n\n\nPosition Overview\n\n\n\t, • Participate as a team member in the planning and implementation of nursing care for each patient\n\t, • Work with medical, nursing, and ancillary services to provide safe patient care\n\t, • Demonstrate a professional, courteous manner\n\t, • Handle confidential information with discretion for the patient and their family\n\n\nInstrument and Equipment Management\n\n\n\t, • Clean instruments and ensure sterility is achieved by utilizing appropriate procedures\n\t, • Recognize successful completion of steam autoclave and automated high level disinfectant units\n\t, • Select equipment and supplies in an organized manner, based on Surgical Procedure\n\t, • Prepare instrument sets according to preference lists, patient history, and age\n\t, • Utilize supplies cost-effectively\n\t, • Handle and operate sophisticated equipment\n\t, • Detect and readily adapt to changes in surgical procedures\n\n\nSterile Field Management\n\n\n\t, • Create and maintain sterile field\n\t, • Maintain aseptic technique at all times in accordance with AORN Standards\n\t, • Open and handle sterile supplies\n\t, • Perform proper surgical hand scrubbing\n\t, • Don sterile gown and gloves\n\t, • Set up sterile field\n\t, • Receive sterile supplies from the circulator\n\t, • Assist in proper draping of the patient\n\t, • Initiate corrective measures when break in sterile technique occurs\n\n\nPatient Safety and Care\n\n\n\t, • Work with medical and nursing staff in providing safe patient care\n\t, • Use care with sharps to prevent injury or contamination\n\t, • Follow policies and procedures for counts and maintain adequate count of all countable items on the sterile field\n\t, • Initiate proper protocol when counts are incorrect\n\t, • Accurately draw up medication with proper labeling of all solutions and syringes\n\t, • Serve as a preceptor and mentor to new employees\n\n\nEnvironmental Standards\n\n\n\t, • Assess surgical environment for safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards\n\t, • Support a state of continual service readiness\n\t, • Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly work and care environment\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n\n\t, • AHA BLS certification required\n\t, • OR Tech Licensure/Certification required\n\t If you are a candidate considering a career move, Alerion Healthcare is here to help!
