This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure nursing services are delivered in a consistent, compliant, and efficient manner across all sites. The Director of Nursing partners with clinical and administrative leadership to support staffing stability, regulatory readiness, quality initiatives, and the ongoing development of the nursing workforce while ensuring nursing staff effectively support providers and clinical teams in delivering optimal patient care in alignment with FQHC requirements and organizational goals. Main Responsibilities: Nursing Operations & Oversight • Provide leadership and supervision of nursing staff across all clinical sites., • Ensure nursing workflows, staffing models, and operational practices support safe and efficient patient care delivery., • Ensure nursing staff effectively support the clinics providers and other clinical team members in delivering high-quality, coordinated, and patient-centered care., • Standardize nursing processes, protocols, and workflows to promote consistency and quality across the organization., • Ensure compliance with HRSA, New York State Department of Health, OSHA, CDC, and other applicable federal and state regulations affecting nursing services., • Prepare nursing operations for audits, site visits, and inspections; participate in corrective action planning as needed., • Maintain and update nursing policies, procedures, and documentation standards., • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention strategies for nursing staff., • Oversee performance evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes in collaboration with Human Resources., • Develop and implement nursing education programs, competency validation, and ongoing professional development initiatives., • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage based on patient volume, acuity, and operational needs., • Partner with Medical, Operations, Compliance, Human Resources, and Finance leadership to align nursing operations with organizational objectives., • Serve as a resource on nursing practice standards, workforce compliance, and operational processes., • Contribute to strategic planning related to nursing services, workforce development, and clinical operations., • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of organizational operations and patient care objectives. Education and Qualifications: Required Qualifications • Active, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license, • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, • Minimum 5+ years of progressive nursing leadership or nursing management experience, • Demonstrated experience overseeing nursing operations, workforce management, and regulatory compliance, • Working knowledge of HRSA requirements, healthcare regulations, and quality standards, • Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, • Experience in an FQHC, community health center, or multisite healthcare organization, • Bilingual Spanish/English Physical Requirements: • Must be able to hear and communicate with clients and staff on the telephone and those who are served in person., • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds., • Must have vision that is adequate to read memos computer screen, registration forms, and other documents., • Must possess manual dexterity, to perform writing and keyboarding tasks., • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer., • OSHA Level I Finger Lakes Community Health uses BambooHR for the hiring and onboarding of our staff.
