Job Description Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Manager - Cardiac Surgery/Thoracic Transplant Job Description As an Operating Room Nurse Manager specializing in Cardiac Surgery and Thoracic Transplant, you will provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for unit operations and staff performance. You will support nursing leadership in developing strategic goals aligned with the organizational mission, vision, and values. You will foster a healing environment that promotes patient and family-centered care while championing evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practices. Responsibilities • Communicate objectives clearly, build consensus, and guide the team toward achieving departmental goals., • Create a professional workplace that encourages respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal outcomes., • Manage staffing needs for the unit and collaborate with HR on recruitment and requirements., • Offer guidance and direction to team members and supervisors., • Oversee performance evaluations, promotions, compensation decisions, and corrective actions., • Serve as a role model for clinical, educational, and leadership standards., • Assist team members with career development planning., • Educate staff on new and existing departmental procedures and systems, including technology and fiscal responsibilities., • Manage the unit’s budget, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective actions for variances., • Track and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement., • Ensure adherence to established care delivery models and professional practice standards., • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies., • Demonstrate current clinical knowledge relevant to the patient population served., • Stay informed on healthcare legislation, standards of practice, and population health trends., • 6–8 years of Cardiac Surgery/Thoracic Transplant nursing experience and 2–5 years in a leadership or management role., • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred., • Active Registered Nurse license in New York State required., • Relevant specialty certifications as applicable., • CNOR certification preferred. This is a Permanent position based out of Great Neck, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
