About the rise rise of the jack o'lanterns is a unique and immersive family-friendly walk-through experience which features over 7,000 hand-carved jack o'lanterns, 3,000 specialty lanterns, hundreds of family-friendly halloween-themed displays, and the world's longest jack o'lantern trail! It is one of long island's original and most visited fall events! Position summary join our team as we host the rise of the jack o’lanterns and other seasonal events throughout the spring, summer, and fall. As a concessions staff member, you’ll play a key role in providing guests with excellent customer service while handling food and beverage sales. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. It’s a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality and food service industry. Job responsibilities · interact with guests to ensure customer satisfaction. · prepare and serve a variety of concession items including hot drinks. · sell items, collect payment, and provide correct change to the guests. · carefully enter all sales into cash register/point of sale system to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded. · restock all sale items and supplies throughout the night. · be able to operate small kitchen machinery. · suggestively sell and upsell items. · maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area. Qualifications · must be at least 18 years old. · at least one year of experience in food service, concessions, or a related customer service role. · must be available to work nights, weekends, and irregular hours. · must have a reliable means of transportation. Season dates and times october 2, 2025 – november 2, 2025 closed monday and tuesday varying shifts from 5:00 p.M. – 11:00 p.M. Compensation $17 per hour. Physical demands usdan is a 140-acre campus with facilities spread throughout - distances vary and are along uneven surfaces, up and down hills. Some facilities are elevated and require one to two stairs to enter. Some staff walk an average of two miles per day. Other physical demands include the ability to work in a hot, humid environment; the ability to speak clearly and understand the speech of another person; and the ability to prioritize sounds and focus on one sound among many. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
