Position Title Client Specialist/ Support Worker / Recovery Support Assistant Sea Recovery Centre – Sotogrande / San Roque, Spain Role Overview The Support Worker provides day-to-day non-clinical support, structure, and engagement for clients throughout their stay at Sea Recovery Centre. This role combines recovery support, hospitality, and lifestyle coordination, ensuring clients feel supported, engaged, safe, and cared for from arrival and admission through to departure. A key element of the role is actively engaging and entertaining clients in a recovery-appropriate way, preventing isolation or boredom while maintaining professional boundaries. The Support Worker does not provide therapy or medical treatment and works under the direction of the Lead Support Worker. ⸻ Key Responsibilities 1. Client Engagement, Entertainment & Daily Experience Actively engage and accompany clients on a daily basis, providing appropriate social interaction and structured activity. Organise and participate in group trips, outings, and excursions, acting as: • A guide, • A facilitator, • A positive, motivating assistant Ensure activities are: • Recovery-appropriate, • Safe and well-organised, • Aligned with individual recovery plans Monitor client engagement levels to ensure clients are not bored, isolated, or disengaged. ⸻ 2. Client Journey Support (Arrival to Departure) Support the entire client journey, including: • Airport arrivals and departures, • Orientation and admission support, • Day-to-day guidance throughout the stay, • Discharge and departure coordination Provide a calm, welcoming, and professional presence at all stages. Ensure each client feels personally cared for and supported. ⸻ 3. Appointment, Transport & Logistics Support Drive or escort clients to: • Therapy sessions, • Medical appointments with third-party providers, • Airport transfers, • Approved external activities Ensure punctuality, discretion, and safety during all transportation. Coordinate closely with reception and the support team. ⸻ 4. Daily Recovery Support & Structure • Support clients in following daily recovery schedules., • Encourage participation in therapy, wellness activities, and structured time., • Reinforce therapeutic guidance provided by clinicians without providing therapy. ⸻ 5. Observation & Reporting (Non-Clinical) • Observe and report changes in mood, behaviour, and engagement., • Escalate concerns promptly to the Lead Support Worker., • Maintain clear professional boundaries: support and observation only. ⸻ 6. Emotional Support Within Clear Boundaries • Provide appropriate emotional support through presence, listening, and grounding., • De-escalate distress without engaging in therapeutic interventions. ⸻ 7. Safeguarding & Client Safety • Follow safeguarding protocols and escalation procedures., • Maintain awareness of client safety at all times., • Respond appropriately to incidents in coordination with senior staff. ⸻ 8. Practical Support & Client Comfort Assist with practical needs such as: • Shopping for essentials, • Day-to-day logistical support Ensure client comfort while maintaining respectful boundaries. ⸻ 9. Documentation & Handover • Complete daily notes, shift handovers, and incident reports accurately and on time., • Ensure documentation is factual and GDPR-compliant. ⸻ 10. Service Excellence & Client Satisfaction • Deliver exceptional client service at all times., • Proactively address client needs and reasonable requests., • Contribute to a positive, engaging, and supportive environment. Teamwork & Professional Conduct • Work collaboratively with the support team and reception., • Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times., • Represent Sea Recovery Centre in line with its premium brand standards. ⸻ Reporting Line Reports to the Lead Support Worker Works in coordination with Reception and under the therapeutic guidance of the Lead Therapist As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in clients’ day-to-day experience by providing consistent support, maintaining structure, and contributing to a safe, calm, and professional environment. You will work closely with clinical, operational, and hospitality teams to support the therapeutic programme while maintaining clear professional boundaries at all times. This is a hands-on, responsibility-driven role that requires maturity, flexibility, and emotional regulation. Key Requirements (Essential) • Fluent English (spoken and written) – essential, • Valid EU driving licence – Category B, • Legal right to work in Spain, • Experience working in hospitality, preferably in high-end or client-facing environments, • Experience working in a health, wellbeing, or care environment, • Proven ability to work effectively within a team, • Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and rotational shifts The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who demonstrates: • Emotional intelligence and self-regulation, remaining calm, grounded, and professional in emotionally charged situations, • Strong observational and situational awareness, with the ability to notice subtle changes in mood, behaviour, or engagement, • Clear professional boundaries, with a strong respect for structure, confidentiality, and reporting lines, • Clear and confident communication skills, including accurate handovers and timely escalation of concerns, • Reliability and accountability, with consistent punctuality and follow-through, • A team-first mindset, contributing positively to team culture and collaboration across departments, • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic residential environment Important Note This role is not a therapeutic or counselling position.
