Company Description: Aistech Space is focused on generating affordable, recurrent, high resolution thermal imagery of the planet to provide a new perspective of Earth’s changing resources. The company is based in Barcelona and aims to revolutionize remote sensing for environmental monitoring and resource management. What you will do: Aistech Space is looking for a senior-level Mechanical AIT Engineer to be the technical leader responsible for converting mechanical and optoelectronic designs into flight-ready hardware. You will be responsible for the hands-on assembly, integration, and verification of spacecraft, instruments, and payloads — from unit level through to system-level qualification campaigns. Working at the intersection of hardware and mission performance, you will ensure that every component is built, tested, and verified to fly. You will also be responsible to follow internal standards and good practices in terms of project management, documentation and time management following an agile approach in your daily work. The key objectives to be achieved are: • Understand Aistech Space’s mission objectives., • Develop comprehensive understanding of our satellites and payloads., • Be part of the different Space Infrastructure Teams in different phases: design and analysis, integration and testing.., • Keep the best communication between internal teams: ground segment and operations, applications and business development., • Recommend the adoption of new technologies, products, and services., • Perform mechanical assembly, harness routing, and mechanism integration of flight hardware in ISO-controlled cleanroom environments, • Write, review, and execute assembly and integration procedures (AIPs) and test procedures in compliance with ECSS standards, • Support environmental test campaigns — vibration, acoustic, shock, and thermal-vacuum (TVAC) — including pre/post-test inspection and functional verification, • Oversee the design and implementation of Ground Support Equipment, both mechanical (MGSE) and electrical (EGSE), required for safe hardware handling and system powering., • Identify, document, and disposition non-conformances (NCRs); perform root cause analysis and support anomaly resolution, • Maintain hardware configuration control, mass/CoG records, and contribute to verification closure matrices (VCRM), • Ensuring all activities comply with quality standards and maintaining strict documentation Who you are: • BSc/MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace or Structural Engineering or relevant degree., • Open minded and extrovert, active learner and a good team player, • 3+ years in AIT or mechanical integration roles in aerospace or defence, • Ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate between multidisciplinary teams, • Cleanroom experience (ISO 7/8, sometimes ISO 5 for sensitive optics), • Familiarity with CAD tools for interface verification and as-built documentation, • Strong knowledge in integrating mechanical parts., • Strong knowledge in developing prototypes fast before developing real HW., • Strong knowledge in the development, handling, integration and verification of space hardware., • Strong knowledge in ground support equipment for AIV testing., • Strong knowledge of satellite verification engineering procedures/processes., • Strong knowledge of environmental testing of space hardware (vibration, acoustic, shock, thermal vacuum, EMC)., • Experience with ECSS or NASA standards, • Experience in integration of optics (e.g. handling protocols) is a plus., • Experience in thermal design, simulations and testing of satellite systems is a plus., • Knowledge of Agile methodologies., • Fluent in English. Soft Skills & Work Style • Methodical and detail-oriented — AIT is unforgiving; one missed torque or contaminated optic can mean mission failure, • Clear technical communicator — interfaces with systems engineers, project managers, and subsystem leads, • Problem-solver under pressure — anomalies arise during campaigns with fixed launch windows, • Hands-on and adaptable — comfortable on the floor in a cleanroom as well as in design reviews, • Documentation discipline — if it isn't written down, it didn't happen What You’ll Gain by Joining Us 👇😏 🤝🏽 Be part of a passionate, collaborative, and respectful team. 💪 Enjoy a stable, permanent contract with a fast-growing company. ⏰ Flexible working hours and hybrid work: 6 days/month from home. 💰 Competitive salary and flexible retribution through Cobee. 🎾 Free access to paddle tennis courts and an on-site gym. 🍎 Daily fresh fruit and coffee to keep you energized. 🌍 Work in an international, diverse environment. 🌴 23 vacation days, plus Birthday, December 24 & 31 off.
