Hi! At Factorial, we're rebuilding HR software on a simple bet: AI isn't a feature you bolt on—it's how the product gets built, shipped, and improved. We're on the lookout for a Senior Product Manager who wants to own a real piece of that. The Role You'll own a key product area at Factorial—end to end, with full autonomy over strategy and execution. This isn't a feature factory: you set the direction, make the calls, and own the outcome. You move fast without losing the long-term vision. You'll join our Product team, led by Emma Sesmero, our VP of Product, working shoulder to shoulder with an exceptional group of engineers, designers, and data folks to shape what modern, AI-native HR software actually looks like—for tens of thousands of companies worldwide. What You'll Be Doing As a Senior Product Manager at Factorial, you will: - Own the outcome, not the backlog: Define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for your area—and own the business result (adoption, retention, revenue), not just the features you ship. - Decide where AI actually earns its place: Find the workflows where AI creates real leverage, and be honest about where it adds risk or noise. Then prove it with evaluation frameworks—hallucination, failure modes, whether it holds up unattended. You're not shipping blind. - Make the hard calls—and defend them: Prioritization, build-vs-integrate, what to kill. You'll make these in ambiguity and stand behind them with leadership and customers. - Partner cross-functionally: Work with customers, Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales to understand the HR space deeply and turn that understanding into real value. - Be the DRI: Set the hypotheses and metrics before launch, own them after. If it works, it's because of decisions you made and can defend. What We're Looking For We care more about the shape of your judgment than the shape of your CV. Some of our best PMs came into product from engineering, journalism, search, venture, or founding something—not from a linear PM track. Here's what actually matters, in order: - You've built something from close to zero—and owned the outcome: A new area, a 0→1 product, a bet you defined and drove, with a result you can name (revenue from nothing, adoption from nothing, a market you moved). "I executed someone else's roadmap well" isn't it—you set the direction and stood behind it. - You've done it where the ground moved under you: Hyper-growth, or a domain with real depth and stakes—shifting priorities, problems no one had solved, scale that broke last quarter's assumptions. - You can make AI reliable, not just impressive: You understand LLM capabilities and failure modes (hallucination, bias, silent errors), and you've either shipped AI to production or thought rigorously about how to evaluate whether it truly works—quality, tone, trust, the handoffs. This is our core bet; it matters here more than almost anywhere. - Your scope has compounded over time: Whatever your starting point, your trajectory shows you being trusted with bigger, more ambiguous bets—and delivering on them. - You communicate with force: You're confident pitching, influencing, and advocating for your vision—internally and with customers and senior leadership. - You speak fluent English (additional languages such as Spanish, French, Italian, or German are highly valued). Bonus Points if You: - Have worked in HR tech, payroll, compliance, or another domain with real regulatory and data complexity. - Have hands-on experience shipping AI-powered features to production—and killing the ones that didn't earn their place. - Have strong technical intuition: comfortable discussing system design, data flows, and integration trade-offs with engineers. (Useful, not a gate—we care more about judgment than depth.) - Have familiarity with integration architectures, API design, or marketplace dynamics. - Have experience in hyper-growth environments where things move fast and change is constant. Compensation The salary range for this position is between €75,000 (€60,000 fix + €15,000 based on performance, paid quarterly) and €87,500 (€70,000 fix + €17,500 based on performance, paid quarterly). We focus on skills and impact, not years on the clock. On top of that, you'll get stock options (ESOPs)—we want you to own a piece of what you build. We're transparent about exactly how they work: our ESOP Bible is public, so give it a read. How We Work At Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together—in person—to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast. That's why our Product team follows an office-first, flexible approach. We work on-site several days a week (80%), using that time to connect, align, and innovate as a team. However, we also understand the importance of focus and flexibility, so we support remote work when it makes sense (20%)—whether for deep work, personal needs, or just a change of scenery. This balance helps us stay agile, creative, and closely connected—while giving everyone the space to do their best work. Hello! Do you want to help us redefine how AI powers the future of Business Management software, not as an add-on, but as a core part of how people work, decide and grow? We’re looking for engineers who: - Treat AI as central to their craft, not a feature to bolt on later - Want to build and ship, not debate and document - Care about whether the thing they built actually worked — not what their title says. Ready to be part of the challenge? At Factorial we're looking for a Product Engineer to help us build and scale our AI- Driven Talent Domain to the next level. As part of this team, which is in charge of providing tools to managers and HR managers in the areas of recruitment, performance, engagement, and trainings, you'll be at the forefront of developing tools and help to improve the way companies take care of their people, their most valuable asset. Ready to be part of the challenge? About the team Our Engineering team is the engine behind Factorial, crafting the tech that makes our AI reliable for thousands of companies. If you love solving hard problems and want to build something that truly matters, come build it with us. We're a team of 200+ Product Engineers building Business Management solution that actually works for the people using it. Our core stack is Ruby on Rails and React but the interesting work right now is what we're building on top of that: agentic workflows, LLM-integrated features, systems that behave probabilistically rather than deterministically. The mission of our Talent Domain is to help companies develop their employees, keeping them engaged and delighted at the same time, helping the company’s teams become the best versions of themselves. To do this, we provide tools to managers and HR managers in the areas of recruitment, performance, engagement, and trainings. But we know there is space for more! That's why we need talented people to go faster. What are we looking for? - You've shipped AI-powered features and know that evaluating them in production is the hard part, not building them. You think about reliability and user friction before model complexity. - You're comfortable reviewing agentic workflows and have opinions about LLM architecture tradeoffs. Not just theoretical ones. - You stay current: RAG patterns, agentic frameworks, what's actually working vs. what's hype and you apply that judgment to real product decisions. - You treat AI features as hypotheses. Build, deploy, measure, adjust. You own that whole loop, not just the build part. - You can break down non-deterministic outputs into something the rest of the team can reason about and act on. - You’re comfortable working with Ruby on Rails & React and understand how to integrate AI models into scalable, cloud-native environments. - You help teammates who are transitioning from deterministic to probabilistic thinking, not by lecturing, but by working through it together. - 4+ years in software engineering, with some track record (or serious curiosity) around shipping AI features. - You can explain a complex technical decision in English to someone who doesn't write code clearly, without condescension. What You’ll Be Doing? - You'll spend more time designing systems than writing syntax. That means breaking down complex tasks, defining architecture, and writing high-level prompts that instruct multi-agent systems to generate the underlying code. - You review and validate what the agents produce. Security, scalability, structure, that responsibility sits with you, not the model. - You'll work on orchestrating multiple AI agents running in parallel, keeping them in sync and making sure the output is coherent across the whole feature. - There's no established playbook for a lot of this. You'll define your own workflows, experiment, and share what works because the team moves fast enough that information silos are a real risk. How We Work (Barcelona or Madrid Office) At Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together, in person to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast. That’s why our Engineering Teams follows an office-first, flexible schedule. We work on-site several days a week, using that time to connect, align, and innovate as a team. However, we also understand the importance of focus and flexibility, so we support remote work when it makes sense - whether for deep work, personal needs, or just a change of scenery. This balance helps us stay agile, creative, and closely connected, while giving everyone the space to do their best work. At Factorial we don't evaluate you by years of experience but by your knowledge and skills. We use our Career Path with a rubric framework where we define what is expected for each experience level and skill. This framework allows you to know your current level and what you need to keep growing. We love transparency, so our Career Path includes the salaries for each level, which we share during the first interview to ensure alignment. Our Hiring Process 1. Intro Call → Chat with our Talent Partner about your journey and goals. 2. Hiring Manager Interview → Deep dive into your product mindset, teamwork, and problem-solving. 3. Live Challenge → A collaborative technical exercise based on real-life problems. 4. Final Coffee Chat → A relaxed conversation with our CTO & VP of Engineering to explore our vision, culture, and your growth. The whole process is remote, using videoconferencing tools! About Factorial Factorial is the AI for Business that knows companies, connects how work happens across the business, and turns that context into action. Founded in Barcelona in 2016, we now have +1,700 employees serving more than 16,000 companies across 112 countries. Factorial started with a simple idea: companies were spending too much time managing processes and not enough time doing the work they were hired to do: their best work. But as companies grow, work gets more disconnected. More people, more tools, more information, and more time spent connecting the dots. Generic AI can answer questions, but it doesn’t know your company. Every time, you have to give it the context. Factorial is different. Because it’s inside the company, it already knows how it works, including its people, processes, policies, and data. So you can ask it to do real work, from screening candidates and managing expenses to answering questions and creating reports. AI isn’t the goal. Giving people back their time is. When work changes, so do we. We believe in diverse talent: we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and strongly encourage people of diverse experiences and identities to apply. We believe in inclusion: we are committed to equal opportunities and actively promote workplace inclusion of people with disabilities. If you would like to learn more about our inclusive recruitment processes, you are welcome to indicate so optionally and we will share additional information with you. Our Values - We own it: We take responsibility for every project. We make decisions, not excuses. - We learn and teach: We're dedicated to learning something new every day and, above all, share it. - We partner: Every decision is a team decision. Join us as a Founding Engineer in a brand-new Factorial spinoff We're building a new startup inside Factorial, starting from scratch, with real backing and a clear target: 0 to 10 million in under a year. It's ambitious, and that's the point. The focus is on rethinking how companies manage workflows, org charts, policies, and analytics, the operational core of what Factorial does. But this isn't an internal project. It's a spinoff with its own identity, its own pace, and its own team. The advantage of doing this inside Factorial? We're not starting cold. We have 15,000+ existing customers, a dedicated GTM team, and the infrastructure to move fast. You'll be joining at day zero, but with a real runway. In terms of what we're building, the tech matters less than you'd think. We care about your ability to move fast, make good decisions with incomplete information, and build things people actually want to use. That said, strong Ruby on Rails experience on the backend and solid React or TypeScript on the frontend will go a long way. If you've ever wanted to work in a small, scrappy team with the energy of an early-stage startup but without the typical early-stage uncertainty, this is that opportunity. Ready to be part of the challenge? About the team Our Engineering team is the engine behind Factorial, crafting the tech that makes HR simple, fast, and reliable for thousands of companies. If you love solving hard problems and want to build something that truly matters, come build it with us. Our core stack is Ruby on Rails and React but the interesting work right now is what we're building on top of that: agentic workflows, LLM-integrated features, systems that behave probabilistically rather than deterministically. You’ll join the newly formed IT Management domain, where we’re creating a platform to manage onboarding, permissions, support, and equipment, so new employees are productive from day one. If you’re excited about shaping a new product area, owning features end-to-end, and working in a people-first company with a strong engineering culture, this role is for you. Our mission in the IT Management Domain is building this new product in Factorial, including multiples moving pieces (inventory management, support ticketing, MDM, IdP, integrated onboarding, etc.), so employees are productive as soon as they receive the equipment and complete the onboarding process. What are we looking for? - You have an entrepreneurial mindset and genuinely enjoy the early stage of building something from scratch. - You've shipped AI-powered features and know that evaluating them in production is the hard part, not building them. You think about reliability and user friction before model complexity. - You're comfortable reviewing agentic workflows and have opinions about LLM architecture tradeoffs. What You’ll be Doing? - You will be a Founding Engineer, taking ownership of big initiatives, and being interested in the outcome, not just the output. About the outcome, you’ll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap, putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain. - You will be involved in customer calls to learn about their pains & needs. - You will review code daily and get feedback on your own code at every pull request, from all team members, including juniors. - You will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality. You will also mentor junior team members and help them learn from your experience. As a Product Engineer you’ll help us support and scale our AI- Driven Finance Domain to the next level. Someone who gets involved from problem definition through to measuring whether the thing shipped actually helped, not someone who picks up a ticket, writes the code, and moves on. We want people who are curious about why a feature exists, not just how to build it. This is not a maintenance role. We're moving fast, the domain is expanding, and there's real engineering work to do. About the team Our Engineering team is the engine behind Factorial, crafting the tech that makes HR simple, fast, and reliable for thousands of companies. If you love solving hard problems and want to build something that truly matters, come build it with us. Finance is one of the fastest-growing domains at Factorial. Its mission is to be the financial backbone of the companies we serve, handling everything from expenses and invoices to payments, cards, accounting, and analytics so that teams can stop chasing paperwork and processes and focus on the decisions that actually move their business. Where we're going is more ambitious. We're building an AI platform that does the work for you: instead of processing invoices, you oversee a system that reconciles them, negotiates amendments with vendors, and closes out the payment cycle on its own. We're extending our banking-as-a-service platform so companies don't just pay with cards and transfers but also get paid, through products like accounts receivable. And we're turning Finance into an engine for cost reduction: planning headcount, policing spend, catching anomalies in invoices and contracts before money goes out, and surfacing the true cost of projects to protect margins. It's a domain where the work has a direct, measurable impact on every company that uses us and where there's a lot still to build! Security, scalability, structure — that responsibility sits with you, not the model. - You'll work on orchestrating multiple AI agents running in parallel, keeping them in sync and making sure the output is coherent across the whole feature. - There's no established playbook for a lot of this. You'll define your own workflows, experiment, and share what works — because the team moves fast enough that information silos are a real risk. How We Work (Barcelona or Madrid Office) At Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together, in person to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast. That’s why our Engineering Teams follows an office-first, flexible approach. We trust each other. - We grow fast: We act fast. We think that the worst mistake is not learning from them. Wanna learn more about us? Check our website!
