The Mechanical Manager for Data Centers is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical systems within mission-critical facilities. This role ensures optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards to maintain 24/7 uptime for data center operations. The Mechanical Manager should manage all task and will take instruction from the Sr. Director of PMT but is expected to operate autonomously within the construction function from supervision through to the construction, testing and commissioning till handing over. Responsibilities • Mechanical design review, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities., • Manage HVAC systems, chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, and fire suppression systems, etc., • Oversee site-based mechanical construction activities, quality assurance, and inspections. Coordinate with vendors for tenders, shop drawings, and commissioning readiness., • Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and maintain documentation as per company procedure., • Coordinate with manufacturers for the Project Manager long lead items for delivery, T&C, payments., • Co-ordinate and work with Engineers, Consultant and Contractor in regards with all the Mechanical System works., • Develop and assist with the Sr. Director/ Project Manager aspects of testing and commissioning, including the appointed T&C specialists from Damac and the contractors team., • Co-ordinate with the LLE vendor., • Making sure the quality and specificity are following during the project construction till completion/handover of the data centre., • Perform technical evaluation of selected consultants and contractors in terms of performance, quality of information received and technical compliance Qualifications • Ideally hold a recognised university degree related to Mechanical Engineering; master’s degree is a plus., • 8+ years of experience in mechanical systems within mission-critical facilities (data centers preferred), • Have extensive knowledge of design to data centre’s that are backed up by experience in a design environment that relates to critical systems and infrastructure., • Highly experienced in delivering high end quality design and projects to client satisfaction, • Have a good knowledge of MS Office, ACAD, ETAP and other software related systems, • Expertise in HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC, FAHU, and fire suppression., • Experience with CMMS, BMS integration, and energy optimization strategies., • Able to fully develop and manage the end-to-end design process related to Mechanical Systems., • Highly experienced in the identification, analysis and management of design and installation risks and issues and can apply mitigation methods to reduce/remove the issues and risks, • Preference will be given to candidates who has : certifications such as Uptime Institute, CDCDP®, DCDC®, or PE. - Familiarity with CFD analysis, Revit/Navisworks, and automation controls. - Experience managing multi-site data centers and standardizing protocols.
