The Head of Applications will be responsible for leading the strategy, management, and evolution of corporate third-party applications — including core systems such as SAP and aviation software like Air Maestro or Gannet — ensuring alignment with business needs and the company’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Group Chief Information Officer, this role also oversees and coordinates the team of IT Business Partners, who act as the main interface between IT and the business, ensuring proper demand management, requirements gathering, and functional analysis to deliver effective and scalable technology solutions. The selected person may be based in any of our offices located in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, or Norway. Main responsabilities Third-Party Applications Management: • Leads the strategy, governance, and operation of corporate applications (SAP, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, etc.)., • Manages vendor relationships, including contractual, budgetary, and service delivery aspects., • Oversees the full lifecycle of applications: maintenance, upgrades, licensing, and roadmap definition., • Ensures availability, roles, compliance, and performance of the platforms under scope. Supervision of IT Business Partners: • Leads and develops the IT Business Partners team, ensuring they act as the primary contact point between IT and business units., • Ensures high-quality functional documentation and requirements analysis., • Drives the identification of improvement and digitization opportunities in close collaboration with business areas., • Prioritises and channel business demand effectively to IT delivery teams. Strategic and Cross-Functional Management: • Contributes to the overall IT strategy definition alongside the CIO and the IT leadership team., • Ensures technology solutions are aligned with corporate objectives., • Controls and monitors budgets associated with applications and IT projects. Technical and functional skills • In-depth functional knowledge and experience in SAP and other key third-party business applications., • Experience in demand management and functional documentation, with proven ability to manage and track projects and tasks using platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Asana or similar., • Strong understanding of application architectures and digital transformation trends. Core capabilities • Strong leadership and team management skills., • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with both business stakeholders and vendors., • Results-oriented, with the ability to prioritise effectively in high-demand and dynamic environments., • Strategic mindset combined with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation., • Proficient in problem-solving, and able to navigate complex data environments with autonomy., • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Required qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field. Required experience • Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in IT roles related to enterprise applications, with at least 3 years in a management role., • Proven experience managing enterprise applications (ERP, SAP, CRM, HR systems, etc.)., • Strong track record in vendor management, including contracts and budgets., • Proven experience working with the Microsoft collaboration stack (M365, Teams, SharePoint) and project management tools such as Azure DevOps.
