ABOUT WTTC The World Travel & Tourism Council is the global authority on the economic and social contribution of Travel & Tourism. WTTC promotes sustainable growth for the Travel & Tourism sector, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, drive exports and generate prosperity. Council Members are the Chairs, Presidents and Chief Executives of the world’s leading private sector Travel & Tourism businesses. Alongside its Council Members and governance bodies, WTTC’s leadership team is responsible for guiding the organisation’s strategy, positioning and global influence. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The primary role of the Research Associate is to provide support on quantitative research projects including the WTTC’s Economic Impact Research. The role will also include analysis efforts, fact-checking and providing first class written material to support research initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage WTTC’s core research programme on a day-to-day basis including: • Data collection, • Relationship with consultants, • Support coordination with other teams including comms, government affairs and membership, • Answering queries, • Presentation of research on WTTC website / applications, • Ensure research is delivered on time, • Preparation of report templates and infographics, • Sense checking of numbers, • Data analysis, • Liaison with consultants, • Delivery of research / reports in appropriate format, • Analysis of findings where required • Methodology, • Presentation, • Potential new research opportunities KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE • Degree level education in economics or a related field and solid background in statistics, • Some experience in market analysis, preferably in Travel & Tourism or related sectors, • Fluency in English, • Project management, • Fluency in a second language is a plus SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES • Strong quantitative skills, • Strong analytical and writing skills, • Excellent drafting ability in English, • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise work to meet deadlines, • Ability to work as part of a team and to support others, • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to evolving priorities, • Excellent attention to detail, • Strong digital literacy and confidence working with data platforms, • Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
